Mary Beth Sant is already the best American white female sprinter that I have ever seen and she is still finishing high school. She has the right genetics, a hard work ethic and she is driven to make the Olympics someday! I'm very proud of this teenage phenom. Mary Beth Sant along with Mary Cain are just simply doing incredible things on the track. The are both great examples both on and off the track. Here is to them both making us all proud over the next 10-12 years! Congrats on another new p.b. to here and I really hope to see her dip under the 11 second mark by the end of her college career.

I wonder where trackster has been at? He must be on vacation or something. I miss reading your posts trackster.

I really suprised no one is commenting on what Mary Beth Sant is doing in high school. Even if she were in college it would be incredible. She is so young and her talent is immense just like Hannah Cunliffe. I never thought that Mary would progress this quickly. Granted the conditions were perfect but that time is amazing! Congrats again on this incredible break through performance!:clap2:

Check out this video guys. Talk about inspirational. It should be a theme song of the trials that underdog athletes that are usually overlooked go though. Work hard. Train hard. Eat right and go out and win. Don't allow yourself to think your the underdog. Believe and you can acheive!

OK - finally some good news today at the Great Southwest HS Track Meet.
This is track meet for HS all stars. The women's 100m featured 6 of the 10 fastest girls in the country.
Mary Beth Sant took 2nd and Hannah Cunliffe took 3rd.
Their times were wind aided, but still impressive - 11.25 and 11.38 respectively.

Sivkova was mentioned in the 'Watch List' thread along with a link to an article about her.
You can read more about her there.

She is amazing. I can't wait to see her college career. Knowing how strong the caste system is in America, they'll probably bump her up to the 400m.

never mind my last post, didn't realize she was in college already. Have I been away from the board that long? Well it nice to see she didn't get pushed into the long sprints. I take it she is a freshman?

Another white sprinter lost. Mary Beth Sant of Oregon has retired from track due to injuries (not sure what they are).
At one time, she was the fastest female high school sprinter in the country.
She went to Oregon and had a very good freshman year finishing 5th in the 100m at the Pac 12 Championships.
Her best time at Oregon was 11.46, 8th on their all-time list (Hannah Cunliffe and Jenna Prandini are ahead of her on this list).
She ran faster in HS - 11.25 and 11.38.
She was also Christian McCaffrey's gf in high school! (wish those two had kids!)
So many white HS sprint stars retire for one reason or another at the university level.

It is interesting how a young person goes from one of the best young talents in the world to "injured" then retired from Track in less than 3 years. At the same time she goes from being Mcaffery's gf to Tyner's gf and the associated lifestyle that goes with this territory. These changes correlate to her decline on the track then retirement. Maybe looking for more than is there but if she is really injured and can no longer compete it is a sad day in track. If she has succumbed to the gansta lifestyle then it is a sad day for her and her family.....

Cheers..
