Obviously the whole situation is controversial. It's hard to know what to believe. He may have been "set up" or unknowingly drugged. We'll never know the truth.

But if the results of the VADA test are not enforced (ie Browne stripped) then it opens the door for anyone to cheat without punishment or consequence.

I dont think theres ever been a boxer who tested positive for PEDs and actually admitted to it. They all deny it and make various claims usually that they were set up.

If the rules are not enforced this time, in the future all a boxer has to do is claim he was set up and the standard is to not enforce any punishment.

At this rate we just might as well not test at all if rules and positive test punishments are not enforced.

Take for example the upcoming Wilder-Pov bout. If Wilder were to test positive all he has to do is claim he was set up, and if Browne is let off the hook theres no reason why Wilder or future boxers wont be given a free pass as well.

In my opinion the rules need to be upheld and enforced uniformly. Also, Browne could have taken precautions to eliminate the possibility of being drugged. He claims he only drank bottled water. His team should should have bought and cooked all food for him (according to him he ate at the hotel which was absolutely retarded).

Yes while I felt from day one that Browne was set up. Unless a mole emerges from the background and admits that he spiked his sample you have to enforce the rules.

The best case scenario for Browne is to get the mandatory spot and he fights the tournament winner or gets a shot at Ortiz or the the winner of Chagaev vs Oquendo. Also the rulings in situations by the various governing bodies are as corrupt as this potential tampering incident. I can't tell you how many times the late Jose Suliaman ruled in favour of his "friend" Don King.

Browne's situation is not quite as straightforward and simple as it may appear.

1) A positive test result doesn't necessarily mean Browne positively used the alleged drug. It means the test result was positive -not the man. There's a difference.

2) A positive test result begs the question: by how much? As everything has a limit, was it 1 particle per million over the limit? Was it 100 particles per million? The difference matters.

3) As it is impossible for the testing organization to prove the chain of custody of the alleged urine sample, and it is impossible for Browne to verify the chain of custody, how can an enforcement be based on an imprecise fact?

4) How could the same sample be re-tested by anyone else qualified and capable of conducting a test to affirm an identical result?

5) What is actually written in the contract the fighters had between them? What is the fighter's specific contractual relationship with the sanctioning body giving that both fighters come from different jurisdictions and so does the sanctioning body and so does the test organization? Not simple at all, and frankly can be made quite complex.

There are many other points of interest which I haven't written here but which may also be examined. Other posters here may wish to consider them.

They are now saying that Browne tested positive for drugs again. What did they find this time, vitamin C? And who is doing the drug testing, Doctor Margaret Goodman's Las Vegas Mafia (Ne)VADA drug testing hustlers again? He's not paying them off enough huh?

And say, who is testing Briggs? He looks to me like he's up to his ears in roids, insane roid rages and all!?

I don't trust VADA.

Why would Browne volunteer to do testing if he was dirty?

Phuck I don't trust VADA either. Browne is just not smart. If he's going to do testing, he needs to use 3 agencies and keep his own sealed samples as well.

I wonder what the hell is going on in the Browne camp. If he is unknowingly cheating then his steroid guru is a joke and needs to be fired and outed. Or maybe the testing threshold has moved the goal posts and the Browne camp didn't know about this.

This happens all the time in track and field where a bunch of stars get caught in rapid fashion or they mysteriously get season ending injuries.

Anyway Briggs the previously failed PED cheat crowing about his PED free training is a joke as he has an obvious HGH gut and probably hasn't been clean in 20 years. Also if Briggs were to win the title it could be George Foreman all over again parading around as champion but ducking live challengers to take on unknown club fighters. This whole situation is a cluster f8c$.

Today, Lucas Browne fights the loud-mouthed, primitive-looking Dillian Whyte.

The winner will very likely receive a world title fight.

Browne has only fought once in the past 2 years. Hopefully the inactivity doesn't come back to bite him in this fight. He should win this one. He is 39 in a month so time is of the essence for him.

The bookies have the misnamed Whyte a 4-1 favorite. Why? Must be a lot of drunks in the USSK betting on him. Good chance for you to get good odds by betting on Browne - who I believe will win by KO - if you like dealing with bookies, which I don't.

Anybody have a good stream? I'll see what i can find...

Browne got his clock cleaned in this one sided beat down.

Showing up to the fight with a feedbag for a belly didn't help his cause. Also he was a good decade older than Whyte, this probably spells the end of Browne at the world level. Whyte will probably get his clock cleaned by Wilder at some point this year as he is the mandatory for the WBC belt.

What was Browne doing all these months training with Wlad Klitschko and all for the biggest fight of his career, and then showing up fat around the middle with no more fight plan than a Golden Glove sub novice? I saw that the moment the fight started. More importantly, though, i hope he's OK

I hate to get down on our guys but that was an embarassment. Browne looked like he just got off the couch. When you fight at the world level there is no excuse for coming into a fight out of shape like that. This could mean retirement for Browne and I sure hope he's ok.

This guy was never more than a tough man contest type.

That said, much luck to him in his future bar bouncer career.
Browne did a formulaic rise to the top ten of the corrupt rankings of the sport. If you fight out of the Asia Pacific area, you just need to win a regional belt and you will be a top 10 fighter. That's why many times mandatory contenders from Oz have been blown out by long standing champions.

Browne upset the apple cart when Chagaev showed up for their fight spotting a sack of potatoes in his stomach. Unlike most paper champions he never got a chance to cash out against a star heavyweight. His proposed fight against Wlad in late 16' would have ended up in a similar fashion to this but his pockets would have been lined with probably double the cash to this fight.

Off topic here, but do any of you guys know where you can go to see fight purses? I've had marginal luck just by searching for it in bing or google, but most of the time I can't find them.

You just have to google it. It's pretty spotty in foreign locations though. I know in many states the commissions release the purses for fights, also when there is a super fight like Gayfeather vs Pacman the promoters gladly release the minimum purses as it hypes the fight as an event.

Good question but who knows what the true numbers are in a shady racketeer-run sports-entertainment sport like boxing, with all the crooks getting their cut and their hands in the pie and payoffs to everyone and their brother and consigliere, trainers, managers, match makers, the alphabet gangs, doc margaret and her vada crew...Exactly how much does the boxer himself wind up with? What number does he put down on his tax return? How much does he really get but not put down? How much does he put down but not really get? Except for the big names with the connections most boxers fight for chicken feed, with no health insurance or sick leave, etc.

Back in the day when the Mafia and other ethnic organized crime groups controlled boxing, mob connected fighters got paid what the mobster felt the fighter would take. Sonny Liston who was illiterate probably never got anything close to what was written on paper. Even Mike Tyson was never paid what he should have been by mob connected crook Don King, his tax problems were partially due to this.
