Lewandowski Going for Another Record

lewandowski, white striker playing for bayern munich, is beating every record in the german league

gerd muller (who died this week) kept the record for most goals in a season with 40 goals for more than 40 years
lewandowski did better this year with 41 goals

gerd muller also has the record for scoring in each match in a row, with 16 matches
lewandowski is currently at 14 matches in a row, only 2 to go

i don't know much about gerd muller, but the impression i get is lewandowski might beat most of his records but he will never be as good as him
maybe because of what muller did with the german national team or because bayern munich was better back then
when i saw lewandowski with poland he wasn't very impressive

Cool video. That's more than I knew about Muller, who seems like Germany's George Best.

Lewandowski is an analog to the NFL's last batch of 'great white quarterbacks' - Brady, Brees, Manning, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, etc. Their clubs will let them finish their careers on their terms, but those players do not fit the model of the replacements they want to bring in. I'm glad he scored in the world cup as it legitimizes some of his club accomplishments.

I'd like to see him end his career at a smaller club (not PSG though)
