I don't think this has ever been discussed but I am kind of flabbergasted that so many people play lacrosse in the high school level. So many good white athletes could be running track. I just find watching it so boring. I never understood the appeal. The scoring is so high and good defense is almost non-existent. Just wondering what people thought of it.

In the part of NY I grew up in, interest in the sport is almost nonexistent. However, when you venture out to Long Island for example, it is a lacrosse hot bed. My college, which was not notable for sports, won the DII national championship one of the years I was there. The racial makeup of the team, from what I recall, was almost entirely White.

Now I remember reading some stuff here at CF that a lot of White parents nation wide have been funneling their kids into lacrosse and away from football. A lot of the skill sets for both sports overlap. Speed, strength, hand-eye coordination, quickness, etc. I think a lot of Whites will choose lacrosse over football because they subconsciously know the caste system will screw them. Also of importance, there is the concussion concerns and the ghetto environment that will come with football in any part of the country where their are sizable number of blacks. What parent would want to subject their kid to that danger and disfunction?

I guess that's a long winded way of saying many stellar White athletes are playing lacrosse instead of football.

You may be on to something with what you said freethinker. I am from NY to and I know places like Long Island and especially Maryland where lacrosse is god among high school sports. It is just so boring and stupid ESPN once a month when they do their top ten highlights has the obligatory highlight of a lacrosse player running past the goal and doing the behind the back shot. Lacrosse goalies have so little chance of stopping shots it is pathetic.
