My brother brought me over Mel Kiper's 2006 Draft preview book-the one you pay $30 bucks for.

Most of it stinks of the Caste System, except maybe for the obvious positions where you have to believe your lying eyes, e.g. Linebacker he rates Hawk, Greenway at 1 and 2.

He obviously struggles at areas where you need intelligence as well as strength, like O-line.

The most glaring area where Kiper is clueless, as are most talent evaluators in the NFL is QB.

The best WINNING quarterbacks are almost always measured by leadership, intelligence (reading the game as it progresses to pivotal 4th quarter) and ability to make the right type of throw at the crucial time of the game.

Let me define the "right type of throw", a qb has to instantaneously decide where to throw with Touch, on a line or a make a different throw on the same route for a different type of receiver(based on their ability)-like a TE/RB Vs a WR.

The masters are Tom Brady and Peyton Manning right now, but Drew Brees, Trent Green and Chad Pennington(before the injury) are pretty special. There are others and they are almost always invariably white-I can't think of a Black QB who can make those adjustments on a consistent basis as defined above.

Note: Although I like Favre, I think he throws the short routes too hard, but then again I missed the 90's as I was in the UK during that time.

Back to Kiper.Kiper strikes me as a highly intelligent guy who never played a high enough level athletically to begin to understand the intricacies of what makes a great player and how that player makes his team great.

Kiper has a sickening caste system based rating system in his QB analysis.

Just a few Examples

#7 rated!!! Tavaris Jackson-Alabama State..this guy plays in a black conference where he completed 50% of his passes his first couple of years and had a decent year his senior year-60%. Division I-AA versus the most disorganized Black coached schools. I make this point because if the pass defense is clueless any average qb can pick it apart because of the poor positioning and execution.

# In fairness to Kiper, I will submit that Omar Jacobs at eight you could make an argument for that status but I wouldn't take him..Career shotgun QB with unorthodox delivery whose Black predecessor -Josh Harris-put up big numbers and has done nothing in NFL..not my cup of tea

#9 Brad Smith-Missouri..Smith was a four year starter that was pulled for a Freshman qb for his poor execution of the offense!! Poor passing numbers but he could run..Kiper states he will move to WR!!! STILL RATES HIM 9TH!

A moment of Sanity overcomes Mel at this point and he puts Drew Olson at #10 out of UCLA. Drew Olson was a four year started at UCLA and returned in 05 after ACL surgery at end of 04...here is his write up from Draft rivals..
"As a senior, he shattered the school record with 30 TD passes while leading the nation in TD passes, passing efficiency (172.47) and interception percentage (0.93). On the year, he completed 218 of 322 passes (a career-best 68 percent completion rate) for 2,909 yards ,30 TDs and three interceptions."

Ponder for a second the insanity of Tavaris Jackson from Alabama State who sucked up till his senior year at black 1-AA school Vs Drew Olson. How about Brad Smith who can't throw to save his life, was benched numerous times his senior year, and Kiper admits he will be switched to WR!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF?

Believe it or not it gets worse..

#12 Michael Robinson-Penn State--never established himself till senior year and then was atrocious at Senior Bowl and Combine..Kiper again predicts position change to WR or Safety

#13 Marcus Vick..do I even have to explain why you wouldn't want this savage leading your franchise?

#14 Reggie McNeal. loser at Texas A & M who got benched at times and Kiper also predicts a position change.

#15 Bruce Eugene -Grambling--6 Feet tall and a conservative 265 lb lard***..See Tavaris Jackson

#16 DJ Shockley-Georgia..1 year starter who had decent year and flopped at Senior bowl and Combine with Accuracy..Kiper predicts position change again!

#21 Darrell Hackney-UAB..even mel admits that the 5'11'' joker slipped in his eyes
smiley17.gif
from 4th to free agent at the Senior bowl due to erratic arm..the only black QB he didn't rate in write up section was #23 Barrick Nealy from Texas State!!!

Mel, that was a disgraceful promotion of the anti-white Caste Football system.

Let me straighten you out on the guys that you unceremoniously didn't write up and placed at the bottom in "no chance" category.

1) #25! Justin Holland -Colorado State..one of the few qb's ever to throw for 5000 yds in HS..Had a great career at Colorado State(where dem white folks get ta play) 2 weeks ago at his pro day impressed scouts by having displayed outstanding accuracy and arm strength. Holland wowed the scouts by throwing from his 20 yard line into the end zone hitting receiver in the chest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) #33 Josh Betts -Miami(ohio) brilliant, athletic qb who had a solid junior and senior years with a complement of stone hands Black receivers.

3) #30 Dustin Almond--Southern Mississippi..for those that like Brett Favre this guy is out of the same mold..had an outstanding career at USM and I discovered him his Junior year when he made Aaron Rodgers look like a HS qb in a near upset of U Cal on last regular season game..If Jay Cutler has a cannon for an arm Almond has a ROCKET!!

Above all those Black QB's mentioned(except arguable Jacobs and Young) I would put #38 Corey Bramlet(Wyoming at 6'4 217 running 4.7 with the stats to back it up) and #47 Joel Klatt(Colorado), #43 Tye Gunn(TCU- 6'3 220 who led Team to 11-1 last year with big arm/intangibles)

The bottom line here is Kiper doesn't understand the QB position at all and actively pushed Black QB's whose predecessors have had zero success at NFL level in terms of winning percentage, championships or success rate to warrant such lofty QB draft ratings.

Year in and year out without fail , the low round white quarterbacks(Delhomme((undrafted)), Brady((6th Round and 3 super bowl wins)), Hasselback((6th round)),Kyle Orton((4th round 10-3 starter! as a rookie)) led their teams to Super Bowls and Winning records..

Wake up Mel and do some research into the QB position before you try and get guys from Alabama State into the first round.

Kiper is probably as responsible as anyone for the Caste System being so entrenched. And he has made a fortune along the way.

voice that was a fantastic post! you really know your stuff. I enjoyed reading it from start to finnish. Thanks for taking the time to do it. At least there is one place in the world where Mel Caste-Kiper's racist anti-white viewpoint is exposed.

Real nice write up Voice. I agree on all the black qbs...Limbaugh was right about the media wanting a black qb to suceed. It is obvious in Kiper's write up that he is pumping up subpar black qbs and negating alot of good white QB's. That comment about Holland throwing from his 20 and hitting recievers in the chest...thats amazing (Im assuming he threw it to the far end zone...80yds). The Black qb cannot survive in the pro game though...they run to much and are to undisciplined. Wait until Urlacher gets an open shot at Young...he never faced any 260lb LB who can run a 4.5 in the Rose Bowl.

Orton had a terrible slump at Purdue that cost him the Heisman. QB is about consistency and finding the open man. If you avoid interceptions and turnovers, and just complete short slants and screens at first, you'll win games and have a productive offense. That's how Brady had his success. Peyton Manning had some bad years before his dominence(he threw a lot of picks). Same with Elvis Grbac ,Drew Bledsoe, and Vinny Testaverde(I think).

Great posts all around in this thread.

I ask myself the same question every year: what the F does Fe-Mel Wiper, Jr. do the other 11 months out of the year? Honestly, WHAT DOES HE DO?

psychosid has the right answer: "i can just picture kiper right about now...in his room...with pics of reggie bush and vince young, he gets a chubby...lol reggieeeeeee ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Somebody should keep track of his percentage of accuracy in picking talent -- my guess is that he is no better than 50-50, meaning that my grandmother - who speaks almost no English and doesn't own a TV - would do just as well picking blindly off a board.

Mel's on radio and TV shows pretty much all year but less after the draft takes place for a while. He probably takes long vacations in the summer. He has his own website, his own print publication. He's made a nice chunk of change from a lot of different sources.

Kiper will probably be jacking off to Reggie Bush and Vince Young highlight films through the summer. Then come fall he'll be spanking off to Adrian Peterson and its pretty much just a never ending cycle.

Here's the ironic part, how does Kiper keep his job? It would be interesting to go back and review all of Mel's top picks and see where they are now. In most jobs, people are judged on their ability, yet Kiper does a crappy job of judging talent and keeps his job.

Kiper is an idiott. He just refuses to give props to most of the white players in the skill positions. He wants whites to know their roles similar to Entine. What a bunch of bull.I hope most of these kids make him eat his words. How can you question a kids talent & heart?

Do you guys think the NFL powers that be actually listen to Kiper and the other prognosticators? I wonder if they really do read Mel Kipers write ups or listen to what he says on ESPN? FOr the life of me, I don't understand where Kiper came from and why everyone kisses his ass.

Jerry Rice and Willie Totten both played together at Miss Valley State in the early to mid 80's if I recall correctly. Totten was the QB. Totten did nothing, in the NFL but I wonder if there was anyone, ANYONE who predicted Rice would be the best receiver to ever play, other than Steve Largent and Fred Biletnikoff of course. If so, that would be the guy to listen to.

Kiper and these other guys are no different from some Wall St. stock analyst. That guy doeesn't know what stock is going to take off any more than you or I do. But after a while, you'd think the company that employs him would keep a record of his picks and would let him go if he continually picked duds. Because the company who employs him doesn't want losers carrying their name. But if their analyst has been making people money, they'd want everyone to know that.

You'd also think ESPN would rate Kiper after a couple of years and broadcast how well he's done. If he's been kicking ass, they should put that all over the place touting him as the ONE man to listen to. Generate lots of credibility and thus revenue for the firm, no doubt. Gotta wonder why they haven't done that. Edited by: joshinva

I think kiper was a visionary in being able to "ride the wave" His wave was the onsetting castesystem and he made the most of it.

Worst Nightmare...

The team I support, Minnesota Vikings, select Tavaris Jackson in the 2nd round!!!?????

Saw the kid interviewed, Diamonds in both ears and can't string a sentence together. The future face of the Vikings. Well, at least our new coach, Brad Childress, is a confirmed idiot.

tarvaris started out as an Arkansas Razorback, and was God-awful! he could throw the ball unbelievably far, but never developed any touch on his throws at all. his first pass attempt in a game was to a running back in the flat...and he knocked the RB down with the pass! it was horrifying! he threw every ball with the same velocity no matter whether it was a dump off or a go. and he would zero in one wideout and throw it to him if all four DBs were hanging on him like curtains.

despite all this negative performance, he was still guaranteed at least one series per half by head coach Houston Nutt, even though starting QB Matt Jones was obviously much better. jackson still felt slighted and transferred. now he has been placed on the negrophile pedestal that produced such champions as akili smith. wow!

After watching the draft, I am starting to believe that Mel is just the messenger. He talks with the NFL scouts and just reiterates what they are thinking on his draft board.

Childress seems to have a thing for black qbs. He had mcnabb in philly and thinks they are somehow superior. Nice insight Jimmy on to how bad this kid is...division 1-AA qbs never get picked on the first day. Erik Meyer has a cannon arm and he went undrafted. Arm strength is not as important as other things. Of course Jackson will get every chance to suceed in the nfl and the fans will support him like they seem to all black qbs. I don't like that 2 of my fav players Greenway and Fox have to go play football with this guy.
