Let's just say...it's been a LONG time coming for John. At least for this season, he will not only be named to the active roster, but is listed behind Marvin Harrison at the "X" receiver. This means he's probably the 4th receiver on the Colts to enter the game. This is amazing news, seeing as this amazingly athletic WR who had a simply stellar college career at Purdue will finally (after 3 years of torture) be a professional.

I know full well how typical his treatment was, but I thought it would be nice to mention him here at CF! Besides, with a pre-season full of bad news for our guys, this new of John Standeford is a definate bright spot! I think he could have about 25 catches for about 300 yards this season if he gets even moderate playing time. Best of luck this season, John, you earned it!

I hope John doesn't get the Stokley treatment at Indy. It will be nice to see at least 2 white WRs getting significant playing time and throws this year.

Thrashen, I'm wondering how certain it is that Standeford makes the Colts. Doesn't he still have to beat out Moorehead for the 4th WR position?

Good for Mr. Standeford.

I recall that Mr. Standeford some years ago was drafted by the Daniel Snyder Redskins. The ultra-Caste Redskins, with Joe Rapture Gibbs as coach, cut Standeford with nary a tryout. I haven't watched an NFL game in four years, but I know the Redskins have a clutch of very poor Black receivers. The Colts have Peyton Manning. It would be great if Mr. Standeford can get his due.
