First time I saw Lumsden last night vs. the shellacking of the Patriots. Actually, got some decent press time, they brought up a stat with his dad. Also, had the offensive play of the evening for the Skins, which isn't saying much. But put a Patriots DB out for a while on a screen pass for 16 yards. Riggins, though, didn't really seem to give a crap about him. Don't understand Riggins to save my life.

He and Mike patrick are so far up the butt of Jason Campbell, I would swear they're gay for him. I was literally getting sick listening to these two guys have orgasm after orgasm over Jason Campbell. RIggins even said that Gibbs should be a little more "democratic and less republican" and start Campbell, HE IS THAT ATHLETIC!"
What the hell does that mean? He isn't starting him because he is black/mulatoo? Maybe Riggo is sampling wines again?

Riggins was saying that Gibbs is being too Republican, i.e., too conservative and that this is causing him to choose Brunnell over Campbell.

My guess is that Lumsden will be cut on Tuesday. That is when they trim down the roster. The Redskins just don't seem to want to give him a honest look.I wonder if and when he is cut,if any other teams will bring him in for a look.I'm still hoping that this wasn't a total waste of time for Jesse.Maybe by a miracle, some other team will sign him and actually play him a little!I know,I'm probably dreaming.White running backs in the nfl are about as rare as dinosaurs. They just are extinct because of the powers that hold them down.

If Lumsden is cut on Tuesday, that will probably be his last chance, and he will have to go to Canada. Most running backs if they are of a certain type and don't make a roster by their second year, they are pretty much done in the NFL.

Lumsden survived the first cutdown day as Washington announced its cuts today, but the big one right before the season starts is when most ofthe league's annual ethnic cleansing takes place.

Well he should make the practice squad at least? I hope he can make the real roster. But with Portis out and back soon he may make the 53 man roster and get cut after he returns. I have seen that before.......

Do you guys think he should even want to be on the Redskins?I mean other than to get a little experience in the nfl.He will never get more thatn a whisper of playing time there. They have enough running backs to start an army.My hope would be for him to eventually go to another team that will give him a fair chance.

Well, that depends more on the coaching staffs intentions of using him should others get injured. Actually, the Redskins don't have any real definite starting RB's outside of Clinton Portis (who may end up injured). I don't see the stable of RBs as much of a problem as the intent of the coach.

Man! I am mad, but I shouldn't be shocked. I guess we'll have to pin our RB hopes on the very few that are still on rosters.

I hate the Redskins for waiting so long to do what we all knew was coming. They must have wanted to make sure that no other team would try to pick him up and somehow have it come back to haunt their team.Maybe the Colts or some other team will still give him a shot.I sure hope so.The Colts were one of the four teams that originally showed interest.Hang in there Jesse.Be patient if that is possible and hopefully some lucky team will give you the chance that you deserve!!

I disagree.Luke Staley gave up too soon in my opinion. It was hard for Brock Forsey because he was small.Lumsden has the size, speed and power to be a good running back at the nfl level. He just needs to prove himself.I don't think he should give up.Jesse should be pissed off and let the media know about it.He should have his agent call every team in the nfl and ask for a tryout. He has to belive in himself or no one else will.I personally hope he doesn't just go back to Canada unless he has tried everything. This is his dream!

that made me sad..he is a white running back..just the fact that he is white erase his chance to 90% but he is canadian..the reason why he was cut is not just because he is white..he is canadian..do you seriously think that the nfl will let a talented guy who is WHITE and CANADIAN?lol

Reports out of Indy say they are concerned with their running game. Neither Addai nor Rhodes is averaging even 3.0 yards per carry, with Addai earning 31 yds on 27 carries, and Rhodes picking up around 40-42 yds on 28 carries or so (don't have the numbers in front of me.)

Wonder if the Colts would like to have Lumsden now? Or Forsey?

Any other team has until Sunday to sign Lumsden. After that,it's either the Skins sign him to the practice squad or he is out of a job in the US.I'm hoping that the Colts take a chance. What do they have to lose? They can cut him just as quickly if he doesn't work out.It doesn't make any sense not to at least bring him in for a look.Keep your fingers crossed guys.

Nothing surprising here. There is NO ONE who has a public forum in the sports media who will ever bring this subject up. John Riggins was mentioned- why would you be surprised that a white ex-NFLer would be in love with black players while ignoring (or chastising) the few white ones? EVERY white ex-player is this way, apparently. Maybe the ones we don't hear from feel differently. At any rate, Riggins was hardly a white nationalist's dream as a player- remember his ridiculous mohawk look, or his huge afro? The ONLY way a white RB is ever going to get a chance in the NFL is for more than one prominent voice in the media to demand it.

I really thought that some team would take a chance on Lumsden and bring him in.If he isn't contacted soon,he will be out of luck.Sunday is the cutoff.

Redskins made public there additions to the practice squad and to no real surprise....no Jesse Lumsden!
The clock continues to tick against the hope of some team sighning him and giving him a chance to "prove" what we already know.

I think people on this board have an inflated idea of Lumsden's chances in the NFL. He is really just an unknown from Canada, I think it is a miracle he even got a pro shot. I can bet you that everyone else in the football world would say: "hey be glad you even got to suit up" and would think it ungrateful to have expected anymore.

Look, if the Doak Walker award winner, and the Fred Biletnikoff winner can get brushed aside so easily then a guy from Canada should have no expectations of anything other then some stories he can tell his grandkids.
