Heres a quote from the article:

The speedy but still inexperienced 5-foot-9 Bloom has spoken with Carolina Pro Bowl Steve Smith, a diminutive receiver who has put together a couple of dominant seasons, about making the most of this opportunity.

Wow, the writer actually referred to Bloom as "speedy". Sounds like we're making anti-caste system progress to me folks. Its a start.

Bloom might have an advantage since I think he is half Jewish when it comes to publicity.

What does black or white or Samoan have to do with being in football? These days, everything.

But the point about Bloom being half-Jewish that wile was making is that Bloom should benefit from the media being run by Jews.

Bloom's partial Jewish ancestry sure hasn't gotten him any favors from the media at all. Here he was, the country's most exciting world class two-sport talent, using his blazing speed in receiving and returning kicks for a big program, and at the same being one of the top skiers in the world.

As has been posted previously, imagine a black with that incredible two-sportcombination and talent. The media drools over blacks who merely play two positions within a single sport, no matter how modestly; a black Jeremy Bloom would have been a dream scenario for the corporate media and he would have gotten the Michael Vick treatment. There's no question he would have been one of the best known athletes in the countryand would have constantly been in the publiceye. But Bloom received only perfunctory attention from the media. Most of his popularity came from girls setting up various fan websites about Jeremy.

And then when Bloom attempted to keep his football scholarship with Colorado while he was receiving training money for his skiing with the U.S. ski team -- skiing with the intended patriotic purpose of bringing homegold for the U.S. while also enriching his future prospects, which is how it works in U.S. sports, both amateur and professional, the NAACP completely screwed him over, barring him from playing football, though similar exceptions had been made for other two-sport athletes.

He was given just the treatment we would have expected an incredibly talented white athlete to receive -- underpublicized in comparison to his talent and feats, and then given the shaft in order to makethe aspirations and dreams he had been working so hard for for so long all but impossible to achieve. No, the "Jewish media" didn't work its omnipotent powers on behalf of Jeremy.

Yeah. My point. Haven't seen any favors come this kids way via the media. To them, he is a skier first, and "oh yeah, I'd heard he played football once" kind of athlete.

It would be easy if it was all about being Jewish.

If that was the case, Arthur Blanke of the Falcons would be holding Bloom as the golden child instead of Vick.

Help us save us!

It sure won't hurt thats for sure. Well I doubt he will get the Sandy Kolfax treatment especially since I have never heard him drop the "Jew Card" on the table. But if anyone here doesn't think being a great "Jewish" athlete won't benefit his career really ought to go back to playing video games and forget commentating here. It seems every Jewish politician with a few years under his belt always answers Hank Greenberg as his favorite baseball player if asked about sports. In the movie "Hebrew Hammer" the meeting of the big Jews had a chair on the podium reserved for great Jewish athletes (it was empty, but that was part of the joke). Personally I don't see anything wrong with Jews playing favoritism its just the caste system in place that at best is a stupid joke.

One would think that being part-Jewish would indeed be of benefit when it comes to media publicity, but the taboo against whites (or against anyone who isn't black) at certain positions in football is so greatand so entrenched thateven being one of "Yahweh's Chosen" doesn't help.

Also, Bloom may not identify as Jewish at all.

He'll have a chance to catch some balls with the Eagles, especially if they lose Stallworth via free agency. He'll DEFINITELY be returning kicks, as Reno Mahe might have been the worst return man in the NFL last season.

So true, butthere is another side to the coin. If an athlete or public figure chooses not to embrace or distances himself from tribal affliation it is not helpful, especially if one claims to be Christian.

Despite their names, speed skater Michael Weiss and moguls skier Jeremy Bloom aren't Jewish.

Peter Bockelman, Weiss' manager, says he is not Jewish. A spokeswoman for U.S. Skiing said Bloom's father is Jewish, but the skier does not want to be identified with a religion, calling himself "an American."

The Caste System must not like that at all.

Bloom has got to become a great route runner. Rick Reilly wrote an article on him.

Anyways, I've got some Jewish blood in me too, but I consider myself an "American."

I just hope Bloom get fully recovered and get a fair shot at WR. The Eagles WR corps stink and Bloom is more than capable, if given a fair chance, to start on that team.

What are the odds we'll hear this next season:

"Jeff Garcia to Bloom for the TD!! What a throw by Jeff Garcia! He scrambles out of the pocket and throws 30 yards down field to a streaking Bloom and hits him midstride! Bloom had to beat two defensive backs to get in the endzone! EAGLES TOUCHDOWN!"

Not very likely.. The Eagles will still have to sign Garcia and bench McNabb... which we know won't happen.

Bloom looks set as the Eagles kick returner this season, and may also play a little wide receiver.

In Kevin Curtis and Bloom, Philly has two genuine speed-burners and great athletes to play receiver. There's no reason Bloom should be just a kick returner; there are black wide receivers who are 5-9 who are very productive in the NFL.

Too bad they have the ever injured McDrab. I don't think Dumavan will stay healthy long enough to establish "chemistry" with the white receivers as their play will be limited to begin with. Toss in an oft injured quarterback and bad things for whitey. I wish them both the best, but not holding my breath.

I remember leading up to the 2005 draft Bloom compared himself to Steve Smith so I was happy to see he was confident in his abilities and would not let the scouts pigeonhole him.

Eagles seem to be the most white friendly team in the NFL this year..
Josh Parry, Curtis, Illoya(not white but not black), Bloom, McCoy, Bradley, Considine..And with their future white QB ..that's look great for what the eagle showed us last year..

Eagles have been a very good team often, but often with few whites. Considering that I think that McNabb doesn't usually have 1,000 yard receivers and that I don't know how much playing time these whites will get, I wouldn't go that far lumsdenpower.

Is Dustin Fox still with the Eagles?
