I don't think Jon Ogden could run well, though the media may tell you differently

.

Jeremy Bloom's 40 time is fine. These 40 times probably fluctuate throughout the entire game.

We are talking about Jeff Ogden and not Jonathan Ogden. Clearly that big offensive lineman doesn't run a 4.3!

No problem. He's too young to be coaching..he should still be playing. We know why he isn't. Do you have any idea why Miami Dolphin fans were picking on him?

I came across some posts on a Miami message board a couple of years ago saying he had fair caught too many returnable punts and he was Dave Wannestadts Poodle - that kind of thing.

I agree with the previous post about Wes Welker by the way. I haven't seen him play much, but he seems very productive. Does anyone know how many total yards he gained last year?Edited by: devans

When is Bloom going to run again for his pro day? They had said around a month ago that it was going to be on April 1st but that didn't happen.I wonder what's going on.Hopefully he will run by next weekend or so because the draft is right around the corner!Good luck to him.

This was posted on NFL.com:

Finding the skier
Former Colorado wide receiver Jeremy Bloom, who gained fame for competing as an Olympic skier, worked out April 1 with Velocity Sports Performance. The workouts took place at El Camino College. As expected, Bloom did not run his 40s, and he also didn't run the short shuttle. He did catch passes and posted 19 bench presses. He weighed in at 184 pounds.

I wonder why he did not run the 40...he needs to soon or he will not get drafted.

Bloom ran at the NFL combine. He ran a 4.49 as mentioned earlier in this thread. Maybe that is the best he can do and he is going to let that time ride.

He could run a 4.0 and he is still going to be a longshot to play. He's counting on his fame to get him a spot and a shot at playing, why mess it up with a bad workout.

I bet he could of ran in the 4.3s at his proday. His speed is the only thing that will get him drafted and a 4.49 is pedestrian for a guy trying to get drafted on his speed.

I agree. He should have tried to run because if he can't get in the 4.3 range, he is toast. He has too many strikes against him (he hasn't played in 2 years, has very little WR experience, and is small).Edited by: SteveB

He gets a pass on his combine 40 because everyone knows he wasn't in football shape or in shape for running a 40.. but not redeeming yourself on pro day wasn't a good decision for him.. but who knows, someone is bound to take a chance on this guy.. the broncos used a 3rd rder on Maurice Clarett.. I find it hard to believe a team wouldn't use a 5th-7th on Bloom!

I read that pittsburg is interested in Bloom. Since Randle-el signed with Washington Bloom could be a capable replacement. He's faster then El and just as elusive running back kicks and was a more accomplished receiver in college. But will Pittsburg or any other team give Bloom a chance. Black boys the size of Bloom are among the best receivers in thr NFL while whites are treated like they are dwarfs. Will Bloom be allowed to break the taboo?

I would love to see him on the Steelers.Maybe Cower will finally let up on some of these guys.I think the Heath Miller showed him how productive he is.That can only help Bloom. There is probably no better fit for him at the moment as you said.Plus Randal El got to play quite a bit a wide out & hopefully Bloom could do the same!

I would love to see Bloom in black and gold. I have read he has good relationships with Ben and Hines so that could be a good sign. I think he will get drafted in the later rounds...the raw potential and big play ability is to much to pass up.

damn... it seems like every year we lose some of the best players to season long injuries... last year it was Beck, Fox and some others and now it starts with Bloom...

I heard some horses#!t in an interview about Bloom. The commentator (I don't remember which one) made a statement, during the intro of an ESPN interview, claiming that Blooms ankles were weakened due to his prolonged use of ski boots. If I can find the interview, I'll post it.

As a snowboarder and ex-skiier...
I am calling bullsh*t on that one. The commentators reasoning behind it was that since the boots are made of very rigid plastic, his ankles lost their natural strength from all the extra support. Yeah, I can see this happening if you wore them 24 hours a day. But wearing them a few hours a day to hit some moguls in Aspen, isn't going to destroy the support strength in your ankles.

I am assuming that the commentator was already conjuring up excuses for Blooms assumed failure as an NFL player. I swear, the crap these media-types spit out is ridiculous.
