Just to be clear for the non-tracksters.....Jenna Prandini won the US title in the 200m.
She is the USA National Champion in the 200m!
That's a huge milestone!
I have no idea when the last white female won a national sprint title in the US before Jenna.
Congratulations!
Somebody looked it up on a lame stream track board and the last White female to win the 200 meter dash was in 53'. Interestingly enough she made the 52' squad that went to Helsinki and later became a part time actress who had a minor part in Sex and the City.

Interesting that Jen Prandini has been participating in multiple events - 100m, 200m, 400m relay, and Long Jump - all year, and at multiple championships - NCAA West, NCAA Nationals, US Championships - yet she still performs incredibly at all of them; and meanwhile Christophe Lemaitre runs a few legs at the World Relays and is fatigued for an entire month!
Something is wrong there. Very wrong.

Hopefully she stays healthy. It's always an enormous programm.

Amazing accomplishment for Jenna!

I'd love to see her competing at an Olympics some day.

LMFAO! Do I really have to go on another rant to explain why Lemaitre is failing :)

Don't post here very often. Congratulations Jenna! I was involved with AAU Track and Field when my son ran AAU. He was in the same age group as Hannah Cunliffe. They were the only white 100M finalists one time in the AAU Nationals 12 year-olds. Hannah of course won and my son finished 6th. I wished he would have kept running. I really enjoyed it.

How did Cunliffe do?

Anyway, thanks jacknyc for your posts as well as others!

Sorry, but I didn't see this post before.
I assume Cunliffe was injured in the later part of the outdoor season.
She missed most of the season.

Somehow I missed this over the summer, but super sprinter Jenna Prandini has turned pro.
Therefore she won't return for her senior season at Oregon.
On the one hand, this is disappointing because she would have been the favorite to win the 100m, 200m, and LJ at the NCAAs next year.
On the other hand, all those collegiate competitions hurt her effectiveness at the World Championships.
Next year is an Olympic Year, and hopefully we can see a fresher Prandini (along with Dafne Schippers) on the medal stands!

Jenna Prandini just won the Bowerman Award as the outstanding collegiate women's track athlete in 2015!

"Then there is Prandini, who put on an absolute clinic at the NCAA championship meets and tallied an astounding 49 points between them. Her 23 points indoors were the most scored by an individual since 2003 and the 26 points she scored outdoors only trailed three-time Olympic champ Gail Devers and nine-time Olympic medalist Merlene Ottey in the record books."
