Draftdaddy hit the nail on the head. The Shark had WAYYYY better football stats than baseball. I love how they pointed out Jeff "didn't look the part" meaning he was a dominate white WR. You can always count on draftdaddy to tell it the way it is. Also hate to say it about Samardjiza's decision but I have to. TOLD YOU SO!!!

One can only hope that when he sees and heard about Quinn in training camp and preseason those emotions might kick up again. Honestly I think he chose baseball because it was safer and the Cubs threw alot of money at him.

Samardzija just had another horrible outing. Over five innings gave up about 8 runs and 10 hits. His record now stands at 0-5.

what do you guys think are the chances of him getting back to football and to the NFL, realistically speaking? and if there's a chance when would that happen?

Again, he was a solid pitcher in a very mediocre Big East baseball conference, while he was a superstar in football. We are absolutely shocked no members of the "mainstream media" pointed this out. Called it on day 1. Jeff will be a failure at baseball because its such a skill sport as opposed to football(WR) that is a athlete's sport(which Jeff is). He was a great athlete doing a nice job as a college pitched that's all. He was nothing great like he WAS in football.

Anyone can do well in A-ball. Like I said before Jeff will never be an impact pitcher in the majors. I see him at the very best being a long relief/emergency starter bullpen guy. He could have been an impact player in the NFL but I guess we'll never know.
Hey guys, here is a blast from the past; Samardzija (2-7, 2.83 ERA) just traded from the Cubs to the contending Athletics. Great to see that he is succeeding in major league baseball. Man, what a receiver he was for Notre Dame. A 1st rounder IMO. Jeff probably saw the hand writing on the wall and chose baseball where he would have a better chance of success, merit based on skills and ability rather than skin color. Congrats to him.
If he had chosen the NFL he would have gone second round at the latest, which is testimony to how good a receiver he was at Notre Dame given his incorrect pigmentation, a weekly highlight reel. Would have liked to have seen him try the NFL; I think he had more mental toughness than Matt Jones, who was similar to Jeff in his athletic freakishness, size and ability, but we know the script well by now -- he probably would have been drafted by an NFL team that didn't need him or that otherwise would have screwed him over.

What is ironic, if I am using the correct word, Jeff was the lead story on BSPN web site, with a huge pic of him in a Cubs uniform. Yeah, glad that he is succeeding at the elite level without any head injury trauma. But, would have loved to see him schooling affeletic DBs in the NFL.
I'm too lazy to look through this thread to see if there are any highlight videos, but found this one on YouTube. Jeff was an animal at Notre Dame.

good stuff! His bowl game against LSUs affletic DBS was awesome. He had potential to be great but he made the smart choice with baseball being a white male n all..

Samardzja missed the slight white renaissance at wide receiver which he could have capitalized on with his skill set, but any white athlete who can score a MLB career is crazy not to do that. The contracts are big, the career is long, and management is supportive. Compare that to the NFL where the money is limited, the career short, and the whole complex from league to media is anti-White, and you cannot but admit he made the correct choice.
Jaxvid, I declare your post the post of the year in the College Football Stars forum thus far. Also, loved that highlight vid posted by Don which featured the the kick ass tune of the Stones "gimme shelter" good stuff. Yeah, glad that Jeff is succeeding on the grand stage that is MLB.
