Jason Schmidt

This guy can pitch!!! He is the rocket except
with more velocity. I have always felt that Bonds stole a lot of
his publicity. He should be the face of the Giants. Schmidt
has good stuff and has really developed. White players on the
Giants must have had it tough during Dusty Baker's tenure.

It took Schmidt awhile to realize his potential. He came to Pittsburgh from Atlanta with a lot of promise, but was inconsistent, never getting his ERA under 4.00. The Pirates ended up basically giving him away to the Giants.
