first of all, i always expect pathetic writing from sports "reporters," but seriously is this the best USA Today can offer? Tucker is "drafted" by the Globetrotters? pfft. what league do they play in? exactly.

they may have offered him a contract, but no one gets "drafted by the Globetrotters." also, i think he'd be just the second ever White man to suit up for Harlem if he actually signs with the team. i could be mistaken on that. at least Jacob is being smart and not rushing into a deal with them, because it would be a one-way ticket to Nowheresville if he wants to continue playing real basketball. which leads me to my second point ...

Tough, there's no way in hell that playing for the Globetrotters would be a stepping stone to the NBA. if Tucker wants to continue playing legitimate basketball (and the NBA doesn't select him in tonight's draft), then he needs to pursue a roster spot on a real team in Europe somewhere.

The Globetrotters play trick basketball, but they do play some elite DI NCAA teams in exibitions if I'm not mistaken. They usually beat most college teams I've heard, but I don't know for sure- as I've never really researched it myself.

Playing in Europe would probably be a better option to try to stay on the radar of the NBA and for him to work on his playmaking ability and ball handling, but I'd like to see him put his outrageous dunking ability to good use for the American SHEEPLE to see.

I doubt the NBA gives a freak white athlete like Tucker a chance. Heck, Ben Hansborough didn't even get drafted after being Big East player of the year, totally passing the scout's eye test for an NBA combo guard athletic wise, AND having a brother who was a lottery pick for the Pacers in 2009, but who plays the less castified position of PF.

Then again things have been looking up in sports a bit lately so who knows...I hope I'm wrong and he finds a J.J Barea like role in the NBA sometime in the near future! But Tucker could very well just become the Nile Knapp or Justin Beaver of basketball ie. a jaw dropping highlight film- showing dominance at lower levels- never getting a chance to make it to the top.
