I don't know if anyone remembers this guy from last year's bowl game against the Hurricanes. Hester was amazing and looked like a natural tailback with a bigger frame. Did a little research and found that this guy was a freaking offensive player of the year in the largest division in Lousiana. If this Hester was of the same complection as the one from Miami, he would have been heavily recruited as a TAILBACK and not FB! Anyways, as someone whose eyes are open to the caste system, Im just glad this athlete has an opportunity to show his talents in the SEC this year. Even though it took two knee injuries to other teammates, I'll take it however it comes. Edited by: white lightning

that link didn't work for me, so i posted the article here. it's interesting to again see a white athlete re-direct attention away from himself and to his teammates. this is what makes white culture the dominant force on the planet, but for Caste purposes, the team-means-more-than-the-individual attitude might hurt the cause a bit. and the guy's name is Hester.

LSU's Hester grabbing playing time, attention

BATON ROUGE -- Jacob Hester's spring began with a request from his coaches.

Hester spent two seasons on LSU's special teams and at reserve fullback, sitting behind Kevin Steltz on the depth chart, but the start of spring ball meant a new position for him.

Knee injuries to the Tigers' top two running backs, Alley Broussard and Justin Vincent, forced the coaching staff to approach Hester about learning a new position, returning to the one he dominated at Evangel.

"I've got two years at fullback already under my belt, so this is nothing but an advantage to get some tailback experience because it's been awhile," Hester said.

"Everything is tailback right now, learning to hit holes and the speed of it. I don't even know where I'm going to be in the fall."

For the moment, it's all about learning and performing for the coaches. Hester's productivity and quick grasp of his new position impressed head coach Les Miles.

Hester is sharing the spot with redshirt freshman R.J. Jackson.

"Everything that I've seen this spring would give me confidence in (Jackson)," Miles said. "Both he and Jacob Hester would be easy to put into a game."

Hester understands with Broussard and Vincent out now is his time to shine.

"In the spring, the defense knows what's coming," Hester said. "The offense is going to be pretty much basic stuff, so if you're able to have any success in the spring time it's the sign of a pretty good player.

"It's real basic stuff. You don't really put in schemes for teams. It's just everyday play, so if you have a player who shines, it's that much better."

There's no question Hester has the talent to succeed at the position.

He began his prep career at Evangel on defense, before Evangel coaches realized his offensive potential. He was the Class 5A Offensive MVP following his junior season when he rushed for nearly 1,600 yards and scored 22 touchdowns.

If the playing time doesn't come at tailback, then there's always his old fullback position. The way he's turning heads in practice, tailback may be the best spot for him.

"I just watched Joe (Addai) and Justin (Vincent) on film," Hester said. "That's how I learned the offense from tailback. I just picked it up on the go from them."

Last week, the Tigers focused on their red zone game and Hester had a few big plays that drew Miles' attention.

"I don't even know where I'm going to be in the fall," Hester said. "I don't know how many plays at fullback or tailback. Those are some big shoes to fill with Joe (Addai) and Kevin Steltz. Hopefully we can get some guys healthy at tailback."

Hopefully he has a good fall and they give him a shot at getting some carries... Does anyone know when ESPNU starts airing the spring games? They always give an idea of who will be playing where...

He's going to be a junior this year so hopefully he can have a great spring game and maybe be starting this year. Lester needs to make the absolute most of this opportunity and cash in on this or else he'll become the next Tre Smith and be playing second fiddle his whole collegiate career.

Becuase he's white they just have to thinker with him at FB instead of just making him an outright TB. If Hester can get 5.36 yards a carry vs. Miami he would easily steamroll over any other team. If Les Miles really cared about winning and not politics he would be starting Hester.

Hester might start next year, you never know for sure. He will be used a lot this year, and he will have plenty of chances to make highlight films. Oh, maybe Don could change the name of this thread to correct his last name, just for people who might be doing searches for him.

Hi, Guys. First time poster, Long time reader. Love the Forum and my respect for everyone here especially Colonel Reb could never be measured.( I play for Nicholls St. Colonels and proud to see a Colonel in this Hall of Fame) Jacob Hester caught my eye and being we played against each other I felt I should lay it down for him on here because I know he would respect you guys as well. Jacob Hester, one word, Ohhhh. When he ran you over, ran past you, made you miss, made you look like an a$$ in front of the whole stadium. You said Ohhhh. Oh $hit, or Ohh did he just do that. LSU comes calling but not for RB. Being from Louisiana we both watched LSU forever and he went knowing they wouldn't use him at RB. It was there loss and has been for letting him sit. I could tell many "Jester" stories but I will save them for another day. Maybe their eyes will open and see skill not race.

Jacob Hester had one rushing TD last night versus a weak opponent and caught a pass. However, his playing time was limited because LSU put up such a big lead over ULL, and the coaches used the opportunity to play younger guys.

Hester was, as JonCurtis said, a stud player at the highest level of Louisiana High School football. He played RB, LB and special teams. Still, when LSU recruited him, I heard a (white) colleague refer to him as a "wasted scholarship." I asked him what he meant, he clarified his theory that Hester was recruited by Saban to bolster the teams academic numbers, as some other white players supposedly are. The caste brainwashing runs deep.

Thanks for the info Jon. The Booty family is unreal. I have known of them since 1993 and they are all something special. You must be pretty good yourself as a defensive captain. I'll keep my eyes out for your friend in the future. Any school could use more good white LBs. Take care and keep us posted!

Wow! This is great news! I hope they keep letting him get carries and throws. Seems like they are using him like Peyton Hillis at Arkansas.

BATON ROUGE -- From the outside it appeared unwise, unproductive and unjustified, the infatuation LSU coach Les Miles and his staff seemed to have with Jacob Hester.

JonCurtis, keep up the good work down at Nicholls! Nebraska is a tough opponent for anyone. It will make your team look a lot better if they beat USC this week. Anyway, keep up the tackles man!

LSU Keeps Hester Busy

September 11, 2006

By Glenn Guilbeau
gguilbeau@gannett.com

BATON ROUGE - Call him a median income man's Reggie Bush.

LSU fullback/tailback Jacob Hester may have been as tired Sunday morning as the New Orleans Saints' tailback/receiver/returner was this morning.

Hester, a junior out of Evangel, rushed eight times for 43 yards and a 28-yard touchdown in LSU's 45-3 win over Arizona on Saturday night. He also caught six passes for 53 yards and a 5-yard touchdown for 96 total yards. Hester also plays on some special teams when he's not catching his breath.

Bush accumulated 119 total yards in the Saints' 19-14 win at Cleveland with 61 rushing, 58 receiving and 22 returning punts.

"I hope I can keep staying on the field and not get too tired," said Hester, who is LSU's No. 1 fullback and No. 2 tailback between starter Justin Vincent and No. 3 tailback Alley Broussard going into Saturday's 2:30 p.m. CBS game at Auburn.

"There is a lot to remember and a lot of plays, and I'm running a lot," Hester said.

Hester is LSU's third leading rusher with 16 carries for 74 yards behind freshman Charles Scott (9-86) and Broussard (16-84), and he is the No. 2 receiver with eight catches for 54 yards behind wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (7-153). Hester leads LSU in touchdowns with three.

"He does a number of things really well for us, including special teams," LSU coach Les Miles said. "He may be the most all-around football player on our team. We'd expect he might get similar touches in other games."

Hester was second on the team in rushing against Arizona behind Scott, who gained 47 yards on four carries with a 38-yard touchdown. Broussard gained 30 yards on eight carries with a 17-yard touchdown, but he lost a fumble. Vincent gained 31 yards on eight carries.

Miles said he will likely continue to go with a tailback committee against Auburn on Saturday...

Miles said none of the tailbacks has yet stepped clearly ahead of the others to be a featured back.

"I want guys who are fresh, who are capable of doing what we ask them to do," he said, "and right now there's not been somebody that has said, 'I'm the guy.' I think you could look forward to a similar style of play with how we play our tailbacks."

So Hester will remain a committee of one.

"I really like it," he said. "High school definitely helped prepare me for this. I played five or six different positions."

Hester rushed for 868 yards and caught 47 passes for 523 yards as a senior at Evangel in 2003. He also played linebacker, safety and nose guard in addition to receiver, tailback and fullback.

"I was never really taught tailback here," Hester said. "I learned by watching Joseph Addai."

Hester carried the ball 45 times for 237 yards in 2004 and 2005 behind Addai and other backs and caught 13 passes for 84 yards.

"I'll be able to handle the double duty," Hester said. "I'm not on as many special teams. But if they need me..."

Jacob had 4 runs for 21 yards and a TD today in a rout of Tulane. He was the second leading rusher for LSU.

There are pretty good reasons Hester only had 4 carries for 21 yards last night (Sep 23).

LSU so overmatched Tulane that the coaches used the game to get younger players live snaps. Freshman Charles Scott got more carries than all the regular starters combined (they being Vincent, Hester and Broussard).

Hester's one TD came on a 6 yard run, following safety Craig Steltz's 76-yard interception return. Hester only played one other series; both were on short fields. A RB cannot rack up big stats when his offense gets the ball at midfield or closer!

Matt Flynn ha a short TD run, too.

After today's game Jacob is the second leading rusher for LSU this year and 4th in receiving. He is also tied for the team lead in scoring with 30 points. Keep it up Jacob!
