Here is a name shooting up the charts: 17 year old Ben Sahar who plays for Chelsea. Problem is once he turns 18 he may have to serve in Isaeli military for three years but not certain. Reminds me of BYU sort of thing with their missions.. He is a dynamic striker who just scored two goals vs. Estonia in European cup qualifying. He is extremely athletic and very strong and fast. This is what we need : Fast and young.

Exactly. They just recently tied soccer powerhouse England 0-0 in European cup qualifying. They may actually beat out England in the tiebreakers(if it comes to that) and advance in the tournament. Imagine the security nightmares in Europe if the Isreali team advances far. I did see snippets of their game against Estonia, they look very fast and athletic. Wished I could have seen the whole game. Love the English team as well and heads will roll if they don't advance.

I wish Saha well - but have one question.

Since when did Israel become part of Europe? Have a look on a map of the Middle East. Travelling from the nearest part of Europe to Israel (the Balkans) you would have to pass through Turkey, Syria, and the Lebanon or Jordonto reach Israel.

I don't see Syria, Jordon, or Lebanon in the competition - and am not saying they should be. But they are geographically closer to Europe. So what's going on?

I like international soccer but I am not a expert on it and so I am not sure what the answer is. Very possibly Israel is not allowed entry into the regional tournaments in the middle east. So maybe their prescence in the European cup was a mercy entry. Could you imagine a Israeli/Irainian soccer match?

Yahhh for political reasons Isreal should be in the Euro group.... Very
unfortunate because this makes it very difficult for Isreal to qualify for the
World Cup.... The Middle East group is much less competative...

That being said, Turkey should not be in the Euro group.... Turkey would do
much better in the Middle East.

Israel just barely missed qualifying for the last World Cup. I think they make the next one. OC football... Isn't Turkey part of NATO and a partial member of the EU.Whether they should be or not is a different question. The Islamists have almost seized full control of that goverment.

The simple reason for Israel being in the the Euro-zone qualifiers is because it would be so dangerous for the Israeli team to play against any country in there Middle Eastern region. They are hated by all the countries around them, not suprising as they are all Islamic countries. As for Ben Sahar I have only seen glimses of him so far and he definatly has potential aotherwise he wouldnt be in the Chelsea academy. Israel probably won't qualify, Croatia look like they might win the group and it's between Russia and England for second. England currently have an awful manager in Steve McLaren, he needs to be sacked!

I really can't stand most israeli people because they think that euros are lower than them and their ilk are in control of the media in america that promotes the black and punishes the white. Again, why should I like them?

Maybe a few are okay but those few need to come to power and take over the ugly marxist/white-hating losers in hollywood, american tv networks, and leftist ran sports orgs.
