According to this article (address below), London has become *the international city*--far eclipsing New York. People from all over the world now settle in London, and consider themselves Londoners. So the author of this article quite logically says that London should secede from Britain. It's a fairly thorough article, detailing how non-British influence permeates London life, even affecting soccer. Here's an interesting quote:

"Consider Chelsea Football Club,

owned by a Russian,

managed by a Portuguese,

and made famous by a striker from the Ivory Coast."

London aint London anymore it's as simple as that. They might still have the priminister and the Royle Family residing there but go a little further into residential London and you will wonder where all the indeagenous people have gone? Well at least the spine of Chelsea's team are 'real' Londoners in John Terry (captain) and Frank Lampard. Joe Cole has unfortunatly been injured most the season but still my faveourite English player and one of Chelsea's best. Arsneal are the worst example.

I enjoyed watching England's Joe Cole in the last World Cup. He has some serious pace on the flank and I enoyed watching him and Germany's young and very speedy phenom Lucas Podolski take on defenders and get by them at will. Sometimes I wish there was more time in the day so I can watch and maybe pay for the international soccer package that Direct tv offers because international soccer and the passion the fans over in Europe have for it, makes me wish we had the same type of fervor in the states.
