The highest high jumper this year is Nate Patterson of Indiana. "Patterson one-upped Crum with not only a new state meet record, but a new Indiana all-time best of 7 feet, 4 inches. Patterson then took three promising attempts at 7-6.25, but was unable to clear it. “I knew if I kept it consistent this year, I’d get the heights I wanted out of myself,” Patterson said. Patterson's clearance is US#1 this season and tied for No. 18 all-time. He has cleared seven feet or better eight meets in a row. He, too, will be back to Bloomington to attempt to qualify for Team USA in two weeks." Read more: DyeStat.com - News - Indiana State Meet 2018 Recap
Another article on Abby Steiner. Her 200m time at the Ohio State meet was the 6th fast HS time ever! http://www.dyestat.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=44531&do=news&news_id=535891
Anna Hall breaks the national HS heptathlon record http://www.dyestat.com/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=44531&do=news&news_id=535503
I find it bewildering that Steiner would choose to be a two sport athlete especially soccer where knee and achilles injuries are prevalent and can ruin a promising University and possibly pro track career. Hope she stays healthy.
Taryn O'Neill senior from my neck of the woods(Kelowna BC) won the Brooks PR Invite girls 2 mile in 9:54.40, she beat some of the top ten US girls. One to watch....
Max Burgin of Great Britain just turned 16 in May, and won the Under 18 European Championships in 1:47.37! A Championship record. I saw the race on Facebook, and it was very impressive. He dominated the race, leading from start to finish. An amazing time for someone who just 16! That time could wind some collegiate conference championships. He is definitely one to keep an eye on! http://www.athleticsweekly.com/event-news/max-burgin-gold-gb-top-euro-u18-champs-medal-table-101021
Chloe Cunliffe(Hannah's sister) won the women's 17-18 year old pole vault with an USATF Junior Olympics record of 13'11". Talent runs in this family! It also looks like Chloe is totally unlike Hannah and her negro loving lifestyle. She comes across as sweet and articulate.
Matthew Boling ran a 10.22 100M and a 20.58 100M. Both times are US #1. https://twitter.com/matthew_boling1/status/1107085402987474946
These times are as elite as you get for high school. Phenomenal, Sensation and Incredible. Where did this kid come from? He also does the 400 meters and long jump. Please switch to becoming a full time 100/200 meter sprinter. He is gonna be a superstar!
Holy Smokes! Those are smoking times. Fastest ever by a white high schooler, I do believe. I mentioned him last season; but as a LJer and 400m runner. He won the Texas state championship in the LJ, and was 2nd in the 400m by 1/100th of a second. These 100m and 200m times are phenomenal! He is at an elite HS level in 4 events!
Yes but if you ask me he is in the wrong events. Despite being a very good 400 meter sprinter and great long jumper, his future should be in the 100 and 200 meters!!! It pisses me off that a once in a lifetime talent like Matt Boling is not training specifically for the shorter sprints. The kid was born to run 100 and 200 meters and it shows. He is number one in the nation over both distances and he doesn't train for either one. Switch this kid immediatly to the shorter sprints and get him training for those events. Just imagine what he might be capable of if he actually trained for those distances? Please tell me that the coach will see this and get him running alot more races over 100 & 200 meters! He can be a future olympic sprinter without a doubt. He needs to switch events!
comparison: Jack Hale 10.20 Matt Boling 10.22 I would like to see this kid focus on the 100/200m as well going forward to College but doing the 400m ensures he is in shape for the 100/200m. Could also be he likes the 400m? Great prospect.
Here is the thing. He is not the best over 400 meters as he is more of a natural short sprinter. He finished 4th a year ago in the 400 meters finals for the state. He did better this year but he dominates in the 100 & 200 meters. Did you see how much he won by? It was like Bolt in his prime as far as no one was close. Very impressive and again I emphasize he doesn't train for these events. Switch him to the short sprints and we have a future sub 10/sub 20 guy. I see a Ramil Guliyev/Fillipo Tortu type sprinter. Elite and world class. Boling has to switch events!!!
https://tx.milesplit.com/videos/350895 Listen to this interview. He says that he hadn't competed in the 100m since middle school!
I heard that but I wanted to throw up when he said the rest of the season he would run the 400, 4 x 400 Relay and Long Jump. Please just stop with this nonsense. Get him in the 100 & 200 meters year round!
