Any handgun enthusiasts out there? Here is my situation. I am roughly 5'-9" 160 and I currently own a glock model 23 40 cal and in my line of work I also carry the very same model. However, I'm not overly fond of the weapon. I have never been comfortable with the grip (possibly due to short fingers)or the absence of an external safety and it seems my accuracy has suffered since switching from my previous weapon (a S/W 357 revolver). I have been looking at 9mm autos sig sauer, S/W, glock and H/K. Anyone with info, suggestions or any personal opinions on these or other handgun's would be appreciated. My goal is to purchase a handgun that I will like for years to come regardless of the price. I also prefer the compact models.

For stopping power I prefer the Glock G36 .45 ACP myself. The only 9mm that I own is an old P-38. If its home defense that you are talking about, you really can't beat a shotgun. If you have to use it you have less of a worry about the slug, or shot, going through walls and hitting someone beside the perp. hope this was helpful.
