Everyone knows Eric Devendorf and Greg Paulus. These guys had
outstanding freshman seasons in '06off the beaten path:

Bryan Mullins 6-1 Southern Illinois: Always thought this kid was a Big
Ten caliber defender, at least. Started at the point for MVC championship
team.

Ben Woodside 5-11 North Dakota State: He was actually Mr. Basketball
in Minnesota, but at a really small school and was a red-shirt freshman
last year. All he did was lead the team in points and assists, 17.5 and 5,
as well as minutes, steals, and three-pointers made.

Adam Gore 6-0 Cornell: Hoosier native is a terrific shooter. He was
second-team all-conference and rookie of the year in the Ivy League.

Josh Wilson 6-2 Northern Arizona: Started for Big Sky regular season
champs and team that made the NIT. Averaged over 6 assists a game,
which was good for 11th in the nation.

Mike Trimboli started for Vermont as a freshman. He was a little sloppy
with the ball, but averaged 14 points and 5.5 assists per game.
