Before the fight I didn't post a predicton because I saw this as a 50-50 fight.

But wow, Froch scored a sensational one punch KO over Groves. That's one of the better one punch KO's Ive seen in years. Perfect right hand catching Groves on the side of the jaw and dropping him instantly. Great stoppage by the ref as Groves was in no position to continue.

Gotta give Froch his due. He's beaten some of the very best in recent years (Bute, Groves, Pascal, Kessler) and even his losses to Ward and Kessler were very close fights.

HBO has now spoken about Froch fightibg Golovkin, Chavez JR, or a rematch with Ward. Froch has stated that before he retires he wanted to fight Chavez JR in Vegas. But Chavez is currently having promotional issues and may be switching over to Showtime so Im not sure how feasible it is. Ward is also currently having promotional issues and is involved in a legal battle with his promoter.

Id love to see GGG vs Froch! In the past Ive picked Bute over Froch and was wrong. But I really think GGG would be too much for Carl and Id see a GGG decision or late stoppage win. GGG vs Froch in an English football stadium would be awesome.

DeGale on the undercard KO'd tough up and coming Rodriguez. They are saying he could be a possible opponent for Frochy. But the big money will be with Chavez Jr or a Ward rematch. Ward's career is on hold due to dispute with his management. Looking forward to the broadcast on HBO tonight.

Saw the replay. That has to be the KO of 2014 thus far. Perfectly thrown and timed. Groves went down like a sack of bricks. While watching the fight, I noticed that Frochy doesn't throw his jab enough. He has incredibly long arms. A good trainer would see this and exploit it. But what do I know. The money fight for Frochy will be against Chavez Jr. I don't think Ward will anytime soon be released from his current contract.

As much as Iike froch he would likely lose to golovkin. He would beat Chavez easily. Ward would be a toss up as the last fight was close and our man was coming on in the late rounds. It was 115-113 on two of the cards. If froch makes it a street fight from the first bell - like he did with bute - he can beat ward.

Groves looked just a tad soft around the middle. He's better off at 160 I think.

I just watched the replay of the fight on HBO. I agree with Steve Weisfeld and had Groves up by a round or two going into the 8th. Froch is a seasoned veteran and he knows how to win fights like this. I'd like to see Froch fight Ward next.
