Francesco Pianeta fought an intelligent fight, and paced himself outboxing Skelton until the 7th round, when he turned it up, landed some bombs and had Skelton hurt. He was in control during the 8th, landing some hard counterpunches. Skelton did not come out for the 9th round, so Pianeta wins by RTD.

Great win for the Italian. Skelton is very overrated and stands little chance against a good heavyweight.

Great win for Pianeta. I haven't see this fight yet but hopefully he's improved since the Sosnowski fight(I had Sosnowski winning). Stopping the durable Skelton is a step in the right direction

Unbeaten heavyweight Francesco Pianeta (26-0-1, 14 KOs) outworked former WBC heavyweight champion Oliver McCall (56-12, 37 KOs) to win a ten round unanimous decision on Wednesday night at the Brandenburg Halle in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany.

Pianeta was too young and fast for the ex-champ, who took the fight on late notice after Pianeta’s original foe Frans Botha pulled out with a training injury.

The 47-year-old McCall was clearly the stronger fighter but was became very frustrated by his inability to finish Pianeta as he stormed around the ring and refused to fight for the last 30 seconds. Scores were 98-92, 97-93, 99-91.

I think he was caught up in the Universum mess that has unfolded over the last year or so. It's a good win as McCall can still take a punch and deliver one too.
