This fight is now confirmed, it will be taking place in Las Vegas later this year.

It will probably be at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Dec. 8, although the location and date have yet to be finalized. I will be taking a trip to Las Vegas to watch the feisty Hitman.

I wonder how much tickets would be? I went to watch the Miranda/Pavlik, Spinks/Taylor fight in Memphis and I must say that I did not spend too much for the tickets (only $50 each for me and my girlfriend). I also watched both of the Spinks fights here in St. Louis (Spinks-Judah II, and Spinks-Karmazin) for the same price. I'm sure that these tickets will be ALOT more but if I can get that weekend off, I am going to Vegas to watch that fight!

All I can say is that I've never looked forward to such a fight in my life. The sports media here in the UK are lapping it up and the vast majority of people give Hatton a very good chance of winning maily due to his tough rugged boxing style. COME ON RICKY!

If Hatton takes down the pretty boy, it's over for black boxers. Since the heavyweight division has been dominated by whites, the focus has been on the middleweight divisions. As I said before, Mayweather is sort of an "icon". If he goes down it will be hard for the media to conveniently not mention it.

I give Hatton around a 50% chance of pulling the upset.I love watching him fight. The hard part will be the 7 inch reach advantage along with a little bit of a speed advantage. Hatton has the power and toughness advantage. We should get a group of guys from Caste Football to do a Vegas Trip if possible. That would be great.

If I'm in the area at the time I'd like to go - but it might be hard to get tickets since ten thousand krazy Brits will be coming over all dressed up in war paint!

I only hope that if that bug-eyed little junky a-hole, Max Kellerman, does the post-fight victory interview with Hatton in the ring again as disrespectfully as he did the last one, those 10,000 Brit hooligans hear it this time so they can make themselves useful and storm the ring and teach him a lesson!

This fight concerns me the most in regards to the potential outcome.
I think that Ricky Hatton will have to stop mayweather in order to win. Even if Ricky does enough to win he will not get the nod unless he makes it over whelmingly clear that he has won such as numerous knockdowns or a KO/TKO. I have faith in Ricky to come hard in this one. However I fear that we may see mayweather go into survival mode and fight extremely defensively. Basically not open up at all in the fight with the normal running and pitty pat punches that so many of the mainstream nut-huggers seem so enamored with.
Mayweather in my opinion cannot hurt Hatton. Hatton took every power punch Kotsya Tzu had in his arsenal and came through unfazed.
It is really a qustion of how the fight will be scored, and whether or not Mayweather comes to fight, or dance.
Like a above poster said. The caste keepers have alot vested in Mayweather. Since the white man owns most of the upper weight classes they needed a new african face to put on the label of boxing. Mayweather is that face.
I am pulling for Ricky 100% make no mistake about it. If Ricky loses the fight he will lose the fight by UD for the 2 reasons stated below.
1) Even if he lands the more impressive blows he will need something big to overcome the bias against him.
2) If Mayweather loses, the caste nut-huggers cannot take comfort in their poster boy Mayweather any longer.
This they cannot have.
That being said. I have a gut feeling that Hatton lands a punch that will be heard around the world. Hatton KO 5th.

I wish I shared your enthusiasm. I am absolutely rooting for Hatton, but... I get the feeling Mayweather rides his bike for 12 rounds and wins an undeserved UD. I'm hoping Hatton doesn't eat a hundred jabs a round trying to chase him down. It's going to be a very interesting fight.

I think the judges will favor Mayweather if the fight is close, in fact Hatton needs a KO or to be very dominating in order to win. I remember the first Castillo vs. Mayweather fight - Castillo clearly won, but the judges gave it to Mayweather. There's one judge in paticular, Jerry Roth, who is very biased in favor of Mayweather.Edited by: JD1986

I've been saying that for months that we should all plan a Vegas trip sometime. Would be a great chance for all of us (all the CF regulars) to finally meet one another in person. However, I don't think Vegas is prepared and ready to handle this group yet.Could get ugly with all of us in one place...together.

I may make the trip to Vegas if I don't have to work. Hatton's my favorite fighter, and it would be nice to meet some like minded folks.

This is the classic brawler versus dancer match a la LaMotta versus Robinson, though Maryweather is nowhere near the fighter Robinson was. Additionally I believe Maryweather is a racist egomaniac who disparages Hatton's victories. He hasn't got 1/4 Hatton's heart and guts.

I think Hatton will take 3 weak punches for every good shot he lands, and at the end he'll have damaged Maryweather a lot more than vice versa but the judges will give the nod to Maryweather.

The media will then use the Hatton loss as an excuse to permanently dismiss him as a white hope, even though, ironically, Maryweather is a forlorn black hope in a sport that is gradually becoming yet another area where whites are finally waking up to the fact that everything the media's been telling them for the last 30 years isn't true. They can fight, and they can be champ.

Go Hatton, even though the only place the sports pundits want you to go is away.

Anybody planning to go to the fight better max out their credit cards to pay a ticket broker(well scrubbed scalper)or be prepared to pay 50 bucks to a Vegas casino for a closed circuit broadcast. The fight was sold out as of today.

Hatton is pulling out the stops and shows how big of a fool Mayweather is....

Craig Phillips Reporting: Ricky Hatton was given a huge welcome home by his fellow Mancunian's this afternoon, as thousands braved the heavy rain to cheer their idol on at the Manchester town hall.

Hatton took to the stage with Promoter Oscar De La Hoya to promote the December 8 clash and thanked the fans for turning out and said he hoped many would be able to make it to Vegas.

Speaking to Sky Sports Adam Smith on stage De la Hoya said: "we all saw what Castillo did against Mayweather. And we saw what Ricky did to Castillo. I've studied the game for years and believe me, Ricky Hatton will beat Floyd Mayweather."

De La Hoya also fulfilled "a lifelong ambition" when he started a "there's only one Ricky Hatton" chant.

Mayweather did his best to intimidate Hatton, even wearing a Manchester United shirt on stage. He also addressed the crowd in his usually confident manner, saying: "today it's called Manchester Mayweather."

Mayweather made sure he had his own entrance to the stage and demanded to be the centre of attention. Although he wasn't given a warm and hospitable welcome from the strong crowd.

In a humorous statement with some colourful language Hatton talked about being in Mayweather's company for the past few days, saying: "I've missed my son over the past few days, but not as much as I expected to. Because I've been with another six year old all week."

When Mayweather tried to jokingly dance when the crowd sang Hatton's name, Hatton responded by saying: "if he dances like that on Dancing with the Stars, he's in big trouble."

When asked about Mayweather's back foot defensive style Hatton had yet another humorous answer, saying: "we all know he (Mayweather) likes to run, so I've got two special sparring partners in Carl Lewis and Forest Gump. We know he likes to run, but in the end his back will hit the ropes and he won't be able to dodge my punches with me on his chest all night."

Hatton concluded the event by promising victory to the crowd saying: "I'm proud to be from Manchester and everywhere I go I try to do Manchester proud, and come December I'll do you all proud by beating that clown."

Hatton definitely has the style to give Mayweather trouble but I would much rather see him fight at the 140 weight class.

Hatton does have the style to defeat Mayrunner. I don't think there is anyone out there right now who can flat out box Floyd but if it became a brawl like Hatton's match against Tzyu then Ricky has a very good chance indeed.

Wouldn't it be great if Hatton defeated Mayweather? The myth of black supremacy in boxing would finally be shattered.

The keys to a Hatton victory will be supreme conditioning, constant pressure and enough power to bust up Floyds body and face. If he is able to apply this pressure for at least 9 rounds I see him winning the fight. Hatton can't get tired. When PBF fought Oscar it was a tough fight. Oscar however got winded. If he was able to win one of the last rounds convincenly he would have beat PBF in a decision or at least got a draw.

I agree with you, JD1986 if Hatton wins it will be another watershed moment for white supremacy in boxing and sports in general. It will be more than Pavlik's outstanding victory. I can not wait for this fight. I read an article that Hatton is already ripped and close to 147 lbs!

Hatton will have to win by at least a TKO the judges will give any round that can be considered close to PBF and maybe some that are not close. Remember the scoring in the Pavlik Taylor fight. THe question here is can Hatton run forward and puch accurately faster the PBF can run backwards and jab occasionally.

It could get rather interesting if the crooked judges award their usual crooked decision to Mayweather, since the city will be jammed up with tens of thousands of drunken British boxing hooligans in war paint. Also, if little bug-eyed Maxie does another disrespectful post-fight victory interview with Hatton, I hope this time it is broadcast to the crowd so the crowd can act upon it in the appropriate manner.
