We had an Ethnic Cleansing 2006 thread last year which had many posts, for obvious reasons given how the NFLroutinely screws overqualified white athletes.

Eric Deslauriers, the 6-4 record-breaking receiver for Eastern Michigan has already been waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers.without so much as a hello how are you. Deslauriers averaged over 1,000 yards his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, runs great routes, has great hands, and would make a capable possession type receiver who can also bustoff the occasional long touchdown catch and run, similar tothe role Hines Ward plays.

But Deslauriers didn'teven make it to the Steelers summer training camp due to the electric talent he was facing at the wide receiver position, all of them members of God's Chosen Affletes. After Ward, there'stiny Santonio Holmes, the Steelers' number one draft pick in '06, who promptly showed off his character by being arrested twice within weeks after his selection and then snubbing Ben Roethlisber's attempts to reach him by phone. He was pretty much a bust unil making a few big plays late in the season. After Ward and Holmes are all-time greats Nate Washington,Lee Mays, Willie Reid, and Cedrick Wilson -- all four of them cutelittle smurfs withvery limitedand erratic skills, low Wonderlic scores, and of coursepoor hands, allfour possessingthe NFL's favored skill set and racialcomposition for the position of receiver.

Against those legends of the game, Deslauriers, with his intelligence, great hands, crisp route running ability and far greater size, was clearly out of his element and the team felt it best to cut him now rather than have him embarrass himself evenfurther byforcing him touse histight hips to compete in training camp against swivel-hipped black cornerbacks and receivers.

let's hope Eric gets picked up by some other team...

Bucs fullback Jon Goldsberry (hardnosed ex Purdue player) was waived but got picked up by Bears soon after, let's see if he sticks with them...

I saw Deslauriers play a few times as he played his college ball close to me. He was incredible. If you were to see the poor armed black QB's that he had throwing to him for much of his college career you would wonder how he managed to get any yards.

He is smart (ex-QB), tall, has great hands, runs good routes, catches everything thrown to him. The ideal pro receiver in that 'alternate reality' where players are rated by skill not race.

That kid is the real deal. A couple of years ago he led the NCAA in yardage going into the bowl season, which is the equivalent of leading in the regular season. You probably didn't hear much about him; he has some kind of physical deformity which disqualifies him from serious consideration as a star receiver.

I am not surprised in the least he has been dispatched from the NFL quickly. He did not posses any of the necessary qualities to be an NFL white wide receiver.

a) gain a lot of yards for a MAJOR college program (this is the Jeff Smardja rule as he is the only white player in the last generation to have done this, and look what it got him... A big contract----with the Chicago Cubs!)

b) world class athlete that puts up huge numbers at the combine (when invited) like Matt Jones or Kevin Kasper.

c) can do other things like be a special team "demon" or carry water or wrap ankles, etc.

d) have friends in high places (Mike Furrey--Kurt Warner or Brandon Stokeley--Payton Manning)

Have fun in the CFL Eric!!

Ya, the most probably thing is for Deslauriers to come to the CFL, although I do not know who owns his rights. He would definately start in the CFL as being from Quebec would grant him non-import status.

This type of thing is a pity. If you look at the past Super Bowl winners, they were all open to having Whites at skill positions. Only 1 of the past 16 QBs to start the Super Bowl were Black, and that was Steve McNair. White QBs always do well, Black QBs always 'underachieve' and never meet their 'unlimited potential'.

There was this one guy, a black QB... Donovan something or other.. I think he started for the Eagles in one of the last eight Super Bowls.

Deslauriers was the 7th overall pick of the CFL draft yet couldn't even serve as training camp fodder for an NFL team. Deslauriers has now signed with Montreal of the CFL but this writers wonders, without acknowledging the obvious racial angle, why not a single NFLteam would give him a chance:

Didn't Pittsburgh just get a black head coach?

There you have it, folks.

Also, if Deslauriers was truly focused on staying in the NFL, he wouldn't have signed with the Alouettes so quickly. I would say that Deslauriers loves the chance to see the field in a Pro Game (albeit with a lower salary) and play in front of fellow Quebeckers.

he probably signed the classic one year + one option year and went directly to montreal so he could learn the playbook and play almost all the games, have a great season and then make the jump as soon as next year.

Fresh off their pathetic treatment of Eric Deslauriers, the Steelers have decided to torture Dan Sheldon next, signing the speed-burner as a free agent yesterday. Sheldon has already been cut by the Cardinals, Colts, and I think the Falcons too over the past two seasons, without coming close to seeing action during the regular season. Like Deslauriers, he's more talented than any of the Steelers receivers after Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes, and like Deslauriers he'll never come close to getting an opportunity to prove it.

There was thread in the media stereotyping section about the terms announcers used to describe white footballers, e.g., lumbering, ambling, etc. In a way these statements are true because of the way the system weeds out the agile and fast white guys.

Johnny Quinn, the standout wide receiver from North Texas, has already been waived by Buffalo, who replaced him by signinga black smurf namedJonathan Smith.

I did a search on Quinn and Yahoo Sports clued me in on why Quinn was destined to not even make it to the opening of the Bills training camp: "He has a great work ethic with amazing strength and good speed for a player of his dimensions but it does not translate well to the playing field."

Yeah, he was only North Texas' main receiving threatand also returnedkickoffs and punts. It's his skin color that "does not translate well to the playing field."

It hurts me that Buffalo have done this. I was a big Bills fan in the eighties and nineties and watched them play backs and receivers such as Jamie Mueller, Don Beebe, Steve Tasker, Mark Kelso, John Hagy, Kurt Shulz, Chris Walsh, Brad Lamb, Tim Tindale, Justin Armour and Carey Bender Carey Bender

In 1993 they had a 12 - 4 record and won the AFC with FOUR white receivers on the roster, namely Don Beebe, Brad Lamb, Steve Tasker and Chris Walsh.

Things have changed.

I rooted for those Bills teams too and for the same reasons, as they were the last majority white NFL team, but they were a Caste team too in that their white players were often under-utilized. Beebe never started, Tasker was relegated to being a White Special Teams Demon until the very end of his long career, and the other white receivers were barely usedeither. Mueller could have been a beast running the ball, but Thurman Thomas got almost all the touches. The Billsdid always have a white safety starting, but the other whites all started at more predictable, Caste-acceptablepositions. There was just more of them on Buffalo than other teams.

Beebe was practically a starter, and was on the field a lot as they used 3 receiver sets. Plus Lofton and Reed were good.

Lofton left after the '92 season and Beebe still wasn't a starter. He never had more than 40 receptions in a season. He could and should have been a starter at some point in his career.

Amen to that. I always liked Beebe and Tasker a lot, especially Don's Superbowl speed showcase.

Beebe's house of speed is a potential "football factory" for white athletes. It has already put out a couple ones.

even to this day and age Bills like their defense pretty white, especially d-linemen and safeties. plus they drafted Poz so it's possible (although not very likely) for us to see a majority white defense from Bills this season at some point (Schobel, Anderson, Kelsey-Posluszny-Wendling,Leonhard). they will start 4-5 whites on regular basis.
however their offense is whole another story...

I don't know if any of you have ever heard of perennial practice squad receiver Drew Haddad. He is a Semitic Arab that still holds many receiving records in the MAC and was cut a while back from the Bills. He outperformed his competition at receiver and made exceptional plays on special teams. He ended up being cut because he was too old to be placed on the practice roster.

I remember hearing the name. Shame he was cut. Just another white skill player down the "memory hole."

If the Hall of Fame game tonight between the Saints and Steelers is any indication, the NFL will be more of a "black thang" than ever this season. Even the league's time-honored practice of playing white backups -- who often should be starters -- in the second half of preseason games before discarding them was abandoned in this one.

Aaron Hosack didn't play for the Saints until about two minutes were left in the 4th quarter, being preceded by a slew of less talented black wide receivers. The Steelers let a number of black RBs run the ball, but John Kuhn was only in periodically to block for them. WR/KR Dan Sheldon didn't play at all.

Saints first round draft pick Robert Meachem did show he's a quick learner. Aftertaking a hard hit after dropping a very catchable ball, the very next play he instantly dove to the turf to avoid all contact. He'll fit right in.

Looks like Kuhn is going to be either cut or relegated to a blocking back. Gary Russell gets a chance even though he failed out of Minnesota and shows up to the combine overweight and out of shape
