It seems like the quickest way for a white reciever to be replaced by the NFLs "real" recievers and find his way back to the bench or get cut from the team altogether is to have a good performance(s) (see Mike Furrey above, Patrick Jeffers, Mark Boerigter etc etc).

Zach Hilton's story is no different. Last year he was one of the most productive TEs in football the final 8 games of the season - starting only 6 of them. In the final 8 games he lead the Saints recieving core with 32 receptions! That's the Arron Brooks lead Saints no less! The guy is 6'8" and in his fourth year he finally got a chance to prove he can play. One would think any NFL team would be drooling to have young 6'8" proven talent like Hilton on their team. No sirree, Hilton was cut by the Saints in the preseason and then picked up by the Jets. They even fooled the jock-sniffing fantasy football sites. Now it looks like he will take the route of all the other white proven talent and be bounced around the league before disappearing for good. This just in from FF update:

Zach Hilton, TE NYJ

News: The Jets released TE Zachary Hilton on Saturday.

Analysis: That's the second team that's released him in the past month. So much for his sleeper TE value. He may re-sign with some other team, or even the Jets, but should be ignored until then.

When you consider how many crappy black receivers get recycled over and over it just boggles my mind what happened to Zach.

Well, how many are left from the original 5 white Colt receivers? 2?

Well, I guess we shouldn't have expected more than 1 to be kept.

I was just looking at some white players bio's and realized if you want to see just how messed up the system is just compare their bio's with black players bio's. The white players list for transactions seems to go on and on forever, no matter how long they have been in the NFL. Whereas the black players transaction basically is a signed with so and so and that is it. They don't have to move around a lot or look for jobs do they.

To clear a roster spot after activating wide receiver Deion Branch, the Seahawks released defensive lineman Chris Cooper, who played well during the preseason but was stuck at the bottom of the depth chart.Way to go Holmgren.....

I've just had a look at the packers web site.

http://www.packers.com/team/depth_chart/

They have 24 Wide Receivers, Safeties and Corner-backs at the moment. All black. The Packers are a disgrace and I can't understand how their fans put up with it.

Brett Favre is the heart of the team from the fanbase's perspective. Take Favre out of the equation and see what you get.
