Today I found a DVD copy of "The Express" for only $1 at a video store that was shuttering its doors, and got suckered in to buying it just out of curiosity.
It's about Ernie Davis, the first Black winner of the Heisman Trophy when he played for the 1960 Syracuse football team.
Needless to say it was predictable caste hogwash of course -- Blacks are all noble victims and Whiteys are all evil racists.
I thought some of the action was okay but far too kiss-ass toward Blacks.
Anyway my point is that while I don't condone the outright racism of Whites (in the way it was depicted) against Blacks, I at least admired the way Whites stood up for themselves back then.
As in, "yeah I'm White, what about it? I'm not going to apologize."
That type of thing.
If only more of us were still racially-aware like that today.
