Eric Weddle - CB

Does anyone know his "40" time? Although I think that this may be the most ridiculous statistic to measure future success in the NFL, it does seem to hold a lot of weight with the numb nuts who make decisions on draft day.
By the way, I know Draft Daddy is more openminded than most other scouting sites, but they describe Weddle as "having the ability and athleticism to single-cover just about anybody"

I turned on the Armed Services Bowl (Utah vs. Tulsa) just in time to hear play by play announcer Mike Patrick say after Weddle picked up a first down running the ball, "He doesn't have much speed for a running back but he knows how to pick up yards." The obligatory racist qualifier.
I don't like the fact that Weddle also handles the snaps on field goal attempts. It's like they have to have him play what's considered a "dorky" whites only position along with the taboo ones. Same thing with Jeff Samardzija.

What where his defensive stats in the game?
I like the idea of having your biggest playmaker hold the ball on field goal attempts, it provides for more versatility, I don't know why more teams don't do that. I remember Samardzija taking one for a touchdown (was that this year?). Kind of like how John Wendling will take direct snaps on punts.Don Wassall said:

I don't know if anyone caught this, but late in the game, the sideline reporter Holly Rowe, made reference towards what position Weddle would play in the NFL. The quote from Rowe went something like this. " Eric Weddle told me that he really would like to play cornerback in the NFL. Eric realizes there aren't a lot of white cornerbacks in the NFl (how about none), but feels he has the ability to succeed at that position.
Of course this comment went unresponded to by Patrick and the color commentator, whose name escapes me. Had Rowe made some comment about the lack of black centers, I'm sure a lovefest of gratitious comments would of oozed from the lips of Patrick. But what else can we expect from the media that perpetuates the caste system more than any other outlet.
From what little I have heard about Weddle, he appears to be a somewhat atypical of the white athlete.
He appears to be very confident in his abilities and not as humble as most white players (e.g Brian Leonard).
I believe after shutting down the media's wet dream, Calvin Johnson, in last year's bowl game, he commented something to effect that he wasn't impressed with him at all.
Hopefully, this self assuredness will help him in his quest to play cornerback in the NFL, but I won't hold my breath.

Weddle is a great player, I am happy to see he is very confident in his abilities and he should be. He shut down Calvin Johnson...of course all the weenie afflete lovers will say its because of Reggie Ball but Weddle shut him down no ifs ands or buts. He is a great player and he will suceed if given a fair shot.

I expect nothing out of white players once they get out of college because of the Caste System. A select few are allowed to play at a few "black" positions and no more than that small number will ever do it as long as things are the way they are because the apple cart would get upset.

MIKE PATRICK HAS NO BALLS!!! Only a vagina!!! Alright had to get that out of my system. Now to business. I really honestly hope Eric Weddle causes some commotion with the whole whiteCB thing. Dustin Fox had the opportunity a couple years ago to speak up and say he deserved and wanted to play CB but he has no balls and now his career is at a dead end. All Weddle has to do is keep bringing up the fact that he shut down "the best WR ever" in Calvin Johnson last year, and also how no white CB such as D.Fox is ever given a fair shot in the NFL. With Weddle's resume one cannot possibly challenge his claims. Eric has to keep opening his mouth on this whiteCB issue becuase the more he talks the more people will listen. I also hope Eric gets a big time agent such as a loud mouth Scott Boras type. One who will back up Eric's statements with the facts and who will go to the media and bitch about his client not recieiving a fair shot. It would be in the besty interest of Eric and his whoever his agent is to plead to the media and NFL teams to play CB. After all cornerback is a higher paying(profile) position and a light contact postion. Meaning Eric will absorb less contact in his career as a CB as opposed to a safety which does more tackling and taking on O-linemen. Which is turn leads to a longer career and more money for everyone. Now go out there Weddle and make some motherfuc&in noise!
Weddle (and safety John Wendling of Utah) have been invited to the NFL Combine. That should be a no-brainer of course, but the NFL is so extremely anti-white that something like this is worth noting. . .

Here is an interesting article from USA today on Weddle. Gets some pretty good love from the writer. Of course there is the ever popular caveats at the end of the article about being able to play in the pros almost anywhere, which of course we all know is special teams.

At the Senior Bowl Jon Gruden Said there is "no question" that Eric Weddle can play cornerback in the NFL and that he will see some action there in the game.
