I know some of you guys are Eastwood fans. Thought you might like this article.

http://in.news.yahoo.com/139/20090227/906/ten-eastwood-think s-political-correctnes.html

edit: Sorry, apparently they moved the article. Eastwood basically talks about how political correctness has caused Americans to lose their sense of humor, a position I agree with 100%.

I'm confounded as to why these links won't work. But if you google "eastwood politial correctness", the article will show up.Edited by: DWFan

Clint Eastwood is one my favorite actors ever. I 100% agree with his point here. There use to be a time from the 1800's and 1900-80's when people of all races could make fun of each other without any racial repercussions. This PC thing which Eastwood's pointing out began in the 90's, a time when extreme liberals and secularists began exercising more of their agendas on bigger social and political issues. He's right in saying people lack sense of humors today. When it comes to PC, only white folks do it, not racial minorities. Since when did it become a crime for a white folk to heckle someone's skin color and nationality? Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics do it without any fear at all. I guess Martin King, Jr. failed to grasp the greater picture and dilemma of PC. We live in a free world, everyone should have their own opinion, regardless of how offending. It's his/her right, not doing so is a form of SOCIALISM. Democracy allows one to exercise bad taste.

It's also become forbidden to poke fun at homosexuals, and ever since the gay lobby became politically organized in the '90s, the word "phaggot" has become as evil as "nihggre". It used to be that gay people had thick skins and could take the potshots lightly. Now with GLAAD trying to dictate how we should treat homosexuals, any kind of non-positive attitude towards gays is automatically "homophobia" and punishable by socialist indoctrination (a.k.a. "sensitivity training").

Hats off to Clint on this one. He's a Libertarian, who's probably more closer to Left/Center than me, but as the "Hollyweird" set goes...he's atop most those vermin. I love the old Leone "Spaghetti" westerns & Dirty Harry series. I still want to see "Gran Torino".

Clint Eastwood is your old-school liberal. He still respects that marriage is for man-woman, and how whites should express their "honest" thoughts on race and nationality. He also respects the belief in God and religion. I think the real idea of being liberal to him was about racial, social, and religious equality without losing any sense humor when it comes to joking about age, race, nationality, gender, and religion. People today have gotten too involved in this political correctness stuff, that it's making them like zombies, socialist zombies, too much formality.

America is heading towards a strange from of socialism, where honest expression (especially on race) is becoming a lost art. I happen to enjoy such humors from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. You don't see such things anymore. Is this what the liberals and secularists reality want? I'll bet that none of these elitist numskulls can spend a week of their life in a small town to see how how religious small townees feel, or in the wilderness to experience mother nature in all it's glory.

These big-city numskulls have no idea what the world is really like, except through their limousines, private jets, and all those annoying social gatherings, not the physical and simple wilderness at hand.

My hats off to Clint Eastwood, not many us realize that he experienced more of the world at hand, spiritually, socially, and racially. Many times more than these extreme liberals and secularists. He speaks the plain and honest truth on what was then and today. Edited by: j41181

Good point j41181, equality for all without loss of humor, and more importantly, without loss of free speech and economic opportunity for the white middle and working class. Edited by: Alpha Male

I think that j41181 made a excellent point as well. Equal rights for everybody but none of the political correctness that exists today and people should be able to associate with who they want to.

j41181, good post man. I agree most about what you said of the libs and secularists never taking the time to really see things the way they truly are. I would add most academics to the list as well (they fall into that group anyway). They are among the worst hypocrites on earth.

I think Clint is one of the finest actor/directors of all time and that he proves a valid point. When today can you get away with a minorly offensive joke and even if there is no seriousness in it? Everone is too worried about offending certain groups and frankly its bullsh*t.
