It has become readily apparent that the MSM is desperate for another "ultimate weapon."

Denard isn't it. Pryor isn't it. Jacory isn't it. Jerrod Johnson isn't it (From what I can tell, he's a very poor scrambler).

"4-star" Jordan Jefferson isn't it... I don't see the "new Daunte" anywhere in college football right now, but... will someone be annointed and artificially elevated, the red carpet rolled out for them by the NFL? Their "abilities" grossly exaggerated by draft experts and scouts?

Yes, there may be someone.. "6-foot-6" Cam Newton. They are pouring the worship on heavy and he gets praised for Auburn's thumping of coal-black Louisiana-Monroe?

It is acknowledged on CF that Daunte Culpepper had some excellent seasons, and my point is, Newton (and all the others) aren't anywhere close to that level. That won't stop the MSM from having their little "circle jerks" when talking about Newton, though.

I can agree, with what has been said before, that some of the thin black quarterbacks - like Kaepernick and Denard - can be hard to grab because they are so thin, but that's not the case with Newton... there's much more to grab or hit. I fully expect Alabama to beat Auburn when they play.

Could another "Daunte" eventually appear onto the scene? Maybe, but I don't see him anywhere right now. Does anyone else see him?
