Duke Conspiracy Theory

The Duke basketball team this year is the whitest Duke team that I can remember since the days of Hurley and Laettner - maybe even whiter. It's also one of the better Duke teams among many good Duke teams. The scoring star of the team and possible college basketball player of the year is also as white as can be. These facts directly contradict the PC caste media machine and the fallacy of black athletic superiority. How will they explain this anomaly?

The caste answer to the above question is: THEY'RE CHEATIN! Though Duke has enjoyed (as most winning teams do) a foul shooting advantage through the many years of great Duke teams, this year there is suddenly a newfound Duke conspiracy theory. I don't remember the mostly black Duke teams of a few years ago being scrutinized for the same thing nor any other black teams from other schools. Is there any doubt that the media's cry of foul!, has to do with this years Dukies team's abundant whiteness? Will this negative press affect the referee's psyche and hurt Duke in the end?

This just in: Duke loses, McRoberts fouls out early, and FSU shoots about twice as many free throws. So much for the conspiracy theory.

Below is a link to a PC media article if you're interested.

Yes Kaptain, I've heard this bandied about the airwaves, just in time for March Madness. I guess the refs will now scrutinize Duke much more closely and tip the scales the other way.

They have already started and the scales were tipped severely tonight with McRoberts and Williams fouling out tonight. The ESPN crew that usually announces Duke games..Vitale and I forget the other gentleman...seem to be very fair in their coverage of Duke and they are big fans of Redick and think he will be very good at the next level. They also said the whole Duke conspiracy thing was bunk, that good teams go to the free throw line more and that they were tired of talking about it.

Well we talk at length about what group is the strongest, what group runs the fastest, but it seems pretty obvious which group lies the best.

The conspiracy theory didn't get much hype and was pretty much non-existant when Duke had mostly black stars. I do remember talk of it in the Hurley/Laettner era though. This year the talk is out of control and no doubt that the underlying message is that white players are priviledged to get all the calls.

White tornado, why do you find coach K so annoying? Just curious, I'm indifferent.

To be honest I can't put my finger on it.

The Lattner era was before my time but during the Jason Williams era conspiracy theorys were, I thought just as prelivent as today.

I think its Just Duke, if they start talking about Gonzaga and Consperisy theorys you will no why.Edited by: white tornado

This has nothing to do with Duke, and everything to do with race. It's also the reason why, even if somehow a white- dominated team like Duke, Gonzaga or West Virginia were to defy all the odds and win the championship, we still wouldn't be completely satisfied. In that unlikely case, you would see and hear much more of this ridiculous "conspiracy theory." Black players, black announcers and some of the most absurd white "journalists" would all be downplaying the victory as a "fluke" and would also hint that "they" wanted Duke/Gonzaga/West Virginia to win. I remember when the Celtics won their last NBA title in 1986, a very long tenured and "respected" black anchorman at one of our local television stations claimed on-air, during a bit of fluffy interplay with the sports guy, that it seemed to him that "some powerful people wanted the Celtics to win." The white sports guy just laughed, like white sports guys will do.

I want to hold out hope, but I don't think there is a chance that any white-dominated team will ever win the NCAA championship again. In contrast to the "theories" about Duke, things are exactly the opposite in college (and pro) basketball. The refs will simply not allow a dominant white team to go that far. Last year's West Virginia-Louisville game was a textbook example of this. West Virginia had a huge lead, but Louisville came back and was handed a bogus victory, because they pressed West Virginia like crazy down the stretch, and were allowed to do whatever they wanted on defense, without being called for countless blatant fouls on every possession. That game was fixed, unquestionably. The same thing happened some years back, when Gonzaga came out of nowhere and made it to the elite eight. They should have won their next game to go to the Final Four (can't remember against who, but it was a typical caste-friendly team), but the refs saw to it that they didn't. Simply put, blacks (unless they are on a white-dominated team) are allowed to play as tough and physical a defense as they want, without the refs calling them on it. Whites, on the other hand, have to play soft on defense, because the refs will call fouls on them if they are anywhere near the black guy when he drives to the basket. Like most things the talking heads in the media tell us, this latest nonsense about Duke is an inversion of reality. The obvious reality is that there is an anti-white conspiracy.

Ok, thats what the media thinks, some people read these articles and developideas and theories on them. Personally, I believe that Duke gets all the calls at home. With a crowd like that itis extremely easy to influence the refs. And yes even Dukes much blacker teams were accused of this type of cheating.

I think some of the problem might be that the refs can see our hands and arms better than they can see theirs.

It is a bunch of bull. I've almost been thrown out of a couple of high school games around here I've gotten so pissed ,and have gotten thrown out of games I was playing in. But it's not always the same, and it doesn't have to stay that way. The international game hasn't been called that way so far ,and I think some of it will stop here as White players get more respect. I play ball 4 or 5 times a week in integrated pick up games. I've noticed Whites get more respect than they did several years ago. Things are changing in basketball.

P.S. Gonzaga lost to eventual champion Connecticut in 99'. They didn't lose by much. A few calls were enough to make a difference. I remember I was heartbroken.Edited by: KG2422
