Kyle Singler found his stroke and almost set the Duke three-pointer record held by Battier with nine 3-pointers. You can easily see the athleticism of the Plumlee brothers and the incredible upside of freshman Mason Plumlee in particular. Mason was easily the best athlete on the floor for both teams. Zoubeck showed some toughness battling inside, getting rebounds and finishing plays down low or getting fouled. He needs to work on his free throw percentage though, under 50%.
The next televised game will be tommorrow at 2pm against Boston College.Edited by: guest301

Great win for Duke. It's good to see Singler having a monster game as well. He's had a sub-par season so far for a guy with his talent level.

It was nice to see the Blue Devils have a nice road win in beating major rival North Carolina last night. Scheyer played 40 minutes at the point and had ZERO turnovers.

Singler has dropped down on many draft boards to a second round pick.

I think Singler will come back for his senior year anyway and he has been playing better as of late.

I hope he does as well so he can get drafted very early. Guest301, do you know anything about Scheyer's chances at an NBA career? I don't see him on any mock drafts but I remember during a Duke game they mentioned he leads the nation in assist to turnover ratio. He also has good slashing ability as I've seen him get to the rim quite a few times. Pretty sad he may never play in the NBA. Diebler from Ohio State is another guy who I think should be playing in the NBA in the future but apparently isn't listed as an NBA prospect. You would think the all-time high school scoring leader in Ohio would have a chance at the NBA.

In answer to your question it appears to me from reading what scouts have to say and hearing the media types that Scheyer would be lucky to be drafted in the second round and he may be a undrafted free agent. We can pretty much see for ourselves how special a player Scheyer is and with the great stats he is putting up it is obvious that if he were black, Jon would be a lottery pick. I think he should at least be in the top twelve of players drafted this summer. I love his deadly outside shot, how he "Nash Like" keeps his dribble alive in traffic and can create for himself or for others off the dribble, always has his head up and looking for teammates, outstanding turnover/assist ratio, tall for a point guard he can easily see over most of his defenders and is a great free throw shooter and has sealed many victories for Duke at the free throw line with the game on the line. Lets also not forget that Scheyer puts up these numbers on a elite team in a elite conference and that Duke year in and year out has the toughest non-conference schedule as well.

It's amazing that Duke wins while using all of these unathletic white guys. It must be the system! As usual, they are beating elite teams, while starting 4 slow guys that can't jump. Look, Greg Paulus was just a product of the system, not an athlete at all. Every black point guard could immediately become a starting D1 quarterback as well as start on an elite ACC basketball team!
Sorry for the dripping sarcasm, guys.

Excellent post FootballDad. I was watching the Duke vs North Carolina Game and I almost dropped my soda when I heard Dick Vitale talk. He actually for one of the few times loves one of our guys. He said that if he had to vote today for the NCAA National Player of the Year, that he would pick J.Scheyer. Way to go Dickie V! At least someone has the courage to give this kid some credit. While he may not be as fast as Bobby Hurley was, he is still every bit as talented in my honest opinion. For his to not even be talked about as having a chance to go to the next level is a complete slap in the face. The kid can play period. I could see him starting in the nba if some team will draft and play him.

Nash is a perfect comparison and I used to watch him play at Santa Clara. Good luck to Scheyer and all of the Blue Devils over the last month of the season. I can't wait to see them go deep into the field in March Madness!

Duke manhandled Maryland. Scheyer dropped 22 his 6th straight game with 20+ points. Zoubek had the best game of his career with 16 points and 17 rebounds

. Singler dropped 19 and had a sweet block. Glad to see Duke clicking towards the end of their season. If Zoubek and the Plumlee's can bring their A games come March and with their big 3 of Singler, Scheyer, and Smith. Duke is a very deadly team.

Watched it, loved it. Duke is far more athletic than the dwf will them credit for being.

Great news Celtic! Glad to see Singler is playing better as of late and Scheyer has been consistent as ever. There is some talk about Scheyer possibly being a second round pick in the draft. I would like to see him stay at the point rather than play shooting guard like many people are saying.

Your analysis is spot on and I agree that Duke will go as far as the Duke big men will take them and the Plumlee brothers and Zoubeck appear to be getting better as the regular season nears the end. The Big Three need some help and right now they are getting it.

Duke vs. Maryland tonight 9pm EST on ESPN. Duke needs to win tonight to secure it's #4 ranking nationally and a likely #1 seed going into March Madness.

According to the "knowledgeable" posters over at DraftCountDown, Duke is the worst ACC winner, ever, the Big East rules, and whites in all sports stink. One poster even lists his location as "bowing at the altar of superior black athleticism" or something to that effect. And he hasn't been banned, in fact he's lauded.

These so-called NBA draft websites are run almost without exception by DWFs who have no expertise in judging basketball talent.

The worse site is NBA draftnet.

They would list the towel boy for Kentucky as a better prospect than Jon Scheyer.

I did some investigating and I found out the site's number one "expert" has as much expertise as the average fan.

He totally ignores Scheyer because prior to running this farce of a website he wrote for the Univ. of Maryland Student newspaper. The same U of Maryland where mainly white fans constantly yelled F--- you at Scheyer while he competes against their basketball team comprised of almost all affletes.

The treatment Duke receives from white fans of opposing teams is one of the worst examples of DWIF behavior.

Agreed on your above post JWhite96. The hatred long directed at Duke has always had a clear anti-white foundation and it just makes me a bigger fan. Ferry, Laettner, Hurley, Reddick, Paulus and now Scheyer can all attest to that fact as they all have been savaged by rival fans and the MSM.
Duke against arch rival NC Tar Heels tonight at 9pm EST on ESPN.

Ferry was a bust. I can't hide that fact. Hurley would have been an All-Star point guard for years.

Reddick is producing and is very solid in his back up role. Laettner was a good forward for years. The critics are still out on Paulus and Scheyer though Scheyer can penetrate and should be at least a decent point guard in the NBA.

Ferry was certainly not a bust as far as his college career was concerned and he hung around the NBA for awile as a player and has turned into arguably a outstanding general manager of the Cavs. Paulus will hopefully be a NFL QB and Scheyer should be the real deal in the NBA if treated fairly. The point of my post was more about the insane anti-white hatred directed at Duke and not about their NBA careers.

He wasn't a bust in college for sure but he never really produced in the NBA. As far as Scheyer he needs to play the point in the NBA because that is where he will excel.

I expect solid production from the big three, Scheyer, Smith and Singler but if Zoubeck keeps playing like this then it's Final Four time for the Blue Devils and they have just as good a chance as anybody to win it all.

NBa draftnet is a very caste site. They never described any whites as athletic and make ridiculous comments about all the affletes like "oozes athleticism" and "ultra athletic." It's obviously a site maintained by a bunch of DWF's/
