I believe this Bills wide receiver and kick returner is white. Does anyone know differently? Certainly he's been treated by the NFL like a junkyard dog as almost all white receivers are: in three seasons with the Colts and one with Buffalo, Haddad has a grand total of one career reception.

He's flown below the radar of Caste Football to this point, but this year he is making a strong push to be Buffalo's third receiver after Eric Moulds and Lee Evans. His main competition is Josh Reed who has been pretty much a bust.

This is from a training camp report from yesterday: "The Bills third wide receiver role has yet to be nailed down and will likely go all the way to final cuts on September 2nd. Veteran Josh Reed continues to get the lion's share of the reps with rookie Roscoe Parrish still out with a broken wrist, but he has been anything but consistent. He used improper technique on an incompletion in the end zone by trying to body catch instead of making a hands catch and the ball was knocked away by the defender.

"KR/PR/WR Drew Haddad who has bounced around the league on practice squads has been pushing for the role and is coming off a solid performance in the Bills last preseason game, in which he posted some first downs and had a 37-yard punt return setting the offense up with a short field. The bottom line is he's outperformed Reed in the preseason and the practice setting thus far."

Haddad went to Buffalo College. It would be nice to see the Bills give a hometown kid with talent the same opportunity routinely given to black receivers who lack topnotch physical measurables -- unlike the Packers who quickly jettisoned hometown receiving star Chris Samp.

Haddad went to high school in Cleveland, so I can confirm his whiteness. His brother Eric and himself are Cleveland high school legends. A couple of years ago he returned two kicks for touchdowns in a preseason game so I thought he would make the Colts roster for sure. He has been quiet in his pro career, as I have forgotten about him until I read this post.
