This diet seems a little light on the beer?

I have cut the milk and dairy almost out, a lot of the junk foods, lowered my bread intake, and started doing push ups, pilades, and running most days and I have lost almost a whole pant size, plus I feel a lot better. I am about 15 pounds or so away from my target weight.

Awesome, keep it up. Email me if you have any questions as well. You can add some lean red meat in that diet as well (95% ground beef, eye of round, london broil)

How much should someone weigh to be on this particular diet? For example, should a 200lb guy eat more or less in order to gain mostly muscle and not get fat? Personally Ive been hitting the weights but need to increase my protein intake in order to get the results I want. However, Ive been cautious about gaining the wrong kind of mass. Anyway, thanks for the info.

Are you into grappling / submission fighting? I ask because "Red Nose" is the name of a popular line of fight gear.

I chose my name because I own a male rednose pit that Ive had since college. Im not involved in any grappling or submission fighting but have considered it. Ive been in a few scrapes with some white guys but very few blacks with the exception of during football practice. It seems that that any problems that I have encountered with blacks have all resulted in the guy barking but with no bite. The last time was during a pickup basketball game where me and three other whites were beating the socks off of the other all black team. There were also a tribe of other blacks in the gym and it could have got ugly. The player I am referring to and his teammates all played for the basketball team form a rival town and me and my team have never played organized basketball in our lives. My man took offense when I told him all of his "jiving" and "dribblin" didnt matter if the ball didnt go in the hole. He started yelling and said he was going to beat my white ass. I lost my cool and went strait at him and he kept on while he was backpeddling around his homies. My team was a little worried because we were seriously outnumbered. Unbelieveably, his teammates apologized and almost turned as white as I was. Anyway, the moral of the story is never show weakness or cower down to the black man because that is the fuel they need. But if a riot had started, some technical skills from submission and grappling training would have come in very handy. Sorry the post was so long but hopefully anyone reading who hasnt grown up around blacks will have a better understanding of how to deal with them.

The diet was tailored to my size and needs. I am 5'10'' and at the time I weighed around 200-205. Since I have been on the diet, I am around 190. I increased speed and strength.

How much do you weigh/height and what are your goals Rednose?

With this diet, you can increase the quantity of carbs to meet your energy needs based on your activity level for the day. When I was playing football, I ate alot more carbs. I am not anymore, so I have backed down.

Beware though, once your body becomes used to eating this way it becomes very efficient. Your energy levels will remain constant all day. However, when I went back home I ate all homecooking and cheated and gained some fat back.

The diet can be grueling taste wise, so I sometimes add salsa or a little tomato sauce to my whole wheat pasta or rice. Mustard is a good zero calorie flavor. Edited by: Alpha Male

I haven't set any weight goals yet and my current size is 5'10" and 195 lbs. I have started back lifting for about 8 months but haven't implemented a nutritional plan. I want to continue to gain lean muscle while dropping body fat levels. Would this program work for me?

It would also be cool if you could post some of your workouts if its not too much trouble. Basically how many times a week of what bodypart and the various exercises one might consider. I'm familiar with most of the exercises but have kind of hit a brick wall in my lifting. Maybe some tips as far as how many reps and the amount of weight % wise I should be using. Thanks.

Keep in mind that this diet was tailored to my activity level and size. Fortunately, we are the same height and when I went on this diet I weighed 205. So, I feel it could work for you. It will definetly lean you out and you could get stronger if you train like this:

3 times a week, say, a Mon, Wed, Fri, schedule.

Legs - Monday

Shoulders, Back - Tuesday

Chest, Arms, Abs - Friday

No workout should exceed 30 minutes. Mine range from 15 to 30 dependng on how heavy I am going. If you are a natural weightlifter, this, in my opinion is the best way to train.

Train intensely, with the foucs being not on how many reps you get but on going to ultimate muscular failure --searing pain. That is the only way to indeuce new growth.

Every time you workout you should switch your exercise choices and orders. For instance, if you usally begin legs with a leg press or squat, try leg curls first. Then move to stiff leg deadlifts, then leg presses, then leg curls, calf raises, and then get out of the gym, if you can walk.

Sometimes I pick weights that I know will get me in the 6 and under rep range for the week, and other times I work with a alot of reps and lighter weights, sometimes just my body weight. If you have been doing heavy bench presses for a while, try doing expolsive push ups off the ground (your hands leave the floor) till failure. YOu will end up doing regular push-ups by the end of your first set if you do these to failure. Remeber to warm up first with light weights and progressive move toward your 2-3 working sets till failure.

Also, if you have a training partner he can take you to beyond failure which will be partial reps kind of like X-reps (www.x-reps.com). Dont buy the book, just realize that it's okay to break your form on exercises at the end of your working sets till failure.

Hope that helps.

Also, this diet was also given to me while I was training for a judo/jujitsu tournament so he factored in my other activies as well.

Now I am training for a 100 Meter event so I run/plyos/drills on my between days.

Remeber to get alot of rest. The weekend could be for that. The water intake is super important as well. Muscles need water. At least a gallon a day.

I've lost twentey pounds in the last two months by changing my diet and also makeing a return to weight lifting. The most important thing I've done is to eliminate all junk food and sodas. I eat two big meals a day witch consist of steak ,chicken, or fish, along with fruits and vegitables. To go along with the big meals I eat small snacks throuout the day witch consist normaly of fruit or sandwiches. I tayler the types and amount of food I eat by what I am doing on that given day. On days I am inactive I eat vary little, on days I need lots of energy I eat more carbs(pasta is a good choise). After a work out I take some whey proteen and eat a large meal of protein. Not only have i lost weight I feel much healther and have more energy.Edited by: white tornado
