Lebedev-vs-Maccarinelli is on!

From Fightnews

Former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli (29-3, 22 KOs) will clash with unbeaten Denis Lebedev (17-0, 12 KOs) on June 27 at the O2 Arena in London. The fight will be part of the undercard to Amir Khan's WBA world light-welterweight title challenge against Andreas Kotelnik. Maccarinelli, who has split with former trainer Enzo Calzaghe and is now working with Karl Ince, is hoping to get his career back on track following a shock KO loss to Ola Afolabi in his last fight.

This guy Lebedev looks very impressive. Could he be the next cruiserweight king? Hopefully he gets a title shot soon.

From Fightnews:

Hard-punchung cruiserweight terror Denis Lebedev (20-0, 15 KOs) continued his string of scintillating kayos with the fourth round blowout of Mexican champion Ignacio Esparza (16-2, 12 KOs) on Monday night at the Udmurt Circus in Izhevsk, Russia. WBO #1 Lebedev, 2009 Russian fighter of the year, dropped Esparza with a wicked left to the head at the end of the first. The Mexican recovered well and gave Lebedev a tough battle till the end of the fourth. With ten seconds remaining in the round Lebedev charged forward with a monster-like left-right-left combination, which had Esparza down for the count. Lebedev retained his WBO I/C title in process. Time was 2:59 of the fourth.

It should be a great fight this coming Saturday between the two top five cruiserweights, Denis Lebedev and Alexander Alexeev.

Denis Lebedev wins by second round KO.

Alexeev went down face first into the canvas, he tried to get up a couple of times but could not and was counted out.
