most of us are aware of David, but his NFL experience hasn't been good to him so far. he's looking to change things this year. he has signed a contract with the Denver Broncos and is having a superb camp! i found an article on his performance posted yesterday (Aug. 1) and it was very impressive... here's the link or just read the article here:

Kircus serving notice
Receiver making an impression at camp

By Bill Wilson
The Daily Times-Call

ENGLEWOOD  Three months of wearing a Subway visor did not deteriorate David Kircus' confidence.

Taking orders, slopping mayonnaise and mopping floors at the sandwich chain last winter did not prevent the Denver Broncos receiver from looking Champ Bailey in the eyes Monday, and winking.

If anything, the days he spent in Detroit splitting his time between lifting weights and slicing bread after he was waived by the Lions have made him more convinced his place is in the NFL.

And regardless of the fact some of his teammates haven't even heard of him, he could be the most self-assured player at Dove Valley this year.

"When I make it in this league  and I will make it  I want everyone to know it's because I worked hard and earned it," he said, "not because it was given to me."

A former star at Division II Grand Valley State, the third-year receiver  who has six regular-season catches to his name  is beginning to make some noise at the Broncos training camp. He's been constantly open and has shown above-average speed and burst, and he's catching nearly everything thrown his way.

During Monday's morning session, Kircus beat Bailey on a post route during seven-on-seven drills, and he didn't forget to let the all-pro cornerback know about it.

"I can't get too high, but I can look him in his eyes and say, 'See, I can play too,'" Kircus said. "I don't tell myself I got lucky; I say, 'I'm supposed to do that.'

"I'm out here for a reason. So I gave him a little smile."

Kircus kept that smile this winter, when he took the fast-food job after the Detroit Lions cut him after last year's training camp. His then-girlfriend's father, owner of several Subway restaurants in the area, paid him $15 an hour and allowed him to set his own schedule.

Because the place stood only feet from his regular gym, it was a deal Kircus couldn't decline. Players with less fanfare wouldn't be caught dead working in a fast-food joint, but Kircus claims it never hurt his pride.

"In Detroit, I had friends in all places," he said. "I would treat the guy that served me at McDonald's with the same respect as coach (Steve) Mariucci.

"So I think working at Subway and being with those people kept me grounded and helped me to not forget what I'm shooting for."

What he's shooting for is playing time. If the first four days of practices are any indication, Kircus has a legitimate chance.

His speed makes him an ideal candidate for special teams  he was working with the punt and punt return teams Monday. He also was working with the first- and second-team offenses, meaning he has a shot to earn playing time there as well.

It won't be easy, however. In this camp, the competition at receiver is fierce.

"I think top to bottom, this could be the deepest set of receivers we've had," head coach Mike Shanahan said. "The more depth we have, the better off we are, because from an offensive perspective, you can dictate the game plan."

Kircus has additional motivation to move up the depth chart. Denver plays its first preseason game Aug. 11 at Detroit, meaning Kircus has the opportunity to show the Lions what they missed by cutting him.

"I think that's in the back of my mind somewhere, but that's not the goal," he said. "The goal is to show (the Broncos) that I can go out there and play."

Whether he fails or succeeds, Kircus insists he'll face his next challenge with the same confidence he showed this winter.

And even though he's convinced he can play as well as anyone in the league, he's proven he won't consider himself too good for anything.

"Even if I come out this season and make the Pro Bowl, in my eyes, I still need to play better," he said. "I'm never going to be good enough, fast enough, strong enough or make enough plays, because you can't be that way and succeed in this league."

Nice article and quotes, especially about earning it and not being given a spot. No white player is given anything in the Caste System NFL.

Training camp BS, typical white guy working hard in camp playing good and getting press. What will it mean? out in the first cut or at best a dead spot on the practice squad. Kircus has virtually no chance. He sucks at special teams and white guys don't get NFL spots if they won't sacrifice the body on kickoff's.

Did anyone witness his wigger dance in his only NFL touchdown? Or his
drunk driving in my home county? Great White Role Model!

Is $15 an hour the going rate for a Subway employee? Not bad.

How about supporting white athletes objectively, while you're at it?

Do you condone black athletes TD antics in the NFL?

Is it okay for blacks to dress in ghetto thug attire but not white athletes? If not, why not? Are or should whites be held to higher standards?

Can you point me to some posts you've written wherein you complain about black athletes and drug use, for example?

I'm sure Subway doesn't pay everyone $15 an hour, anymore than car dealerships let just anyone drive a brand new Lexus for free. At least Kircus was putting in some hours to earn his money. If he were a black man with his attributes and abilities, he wouldn't have to be slicing meat and making sandwiches, he'd have been signed to an NFL team and starting somewhere already.

Let me clear this up. Kircus did not do any "wigger dance" (whatever the hell that is supposed to mean.) In one of the few times he was on the field he took an underthrown ball from the defensiveback, streaked down the field and hauled in a 50 yard TD bomb. He was so far out in front that he was able to hotdog it in by highstepping the last 20 yards. Then he taunted the visiting crowd. HA! HA! White receiver shows up black defensive back. HOW SWEET!

When a black rookie WR catches his first TD he can shake his ass and taunt the d-back and the fans loooooooove it. The coaches make all kinds of excuses about "rookie enthusiasm" and their love for the game and then they compliment them on their "winning smiles".

But just let a *rare* white rookie WR haul in a long bomb and then showboat and look out! The coach criticized him, the media, criticized him, and the fans got on him. And now, on CASTEFOOTBALL a website that is here expressly for the purpose of supporting "OUR BOYS" I have to read the posting of a two-faced phony criticize Kircus for being a "wigger" for a simple bit of hotdogging that is minor by standards set for any black athlete in the world.

I thought it was one of the best sports moments of that year. And I will always be a Kircus fan for just that reason. GO CIRCUS KIRCUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Edited by: jaxvid

The two future starter of the Lions are Mike Furrey and Kircus
In depth chart of the Lions Furry is the Fourth

Kircus led all receivers for both teams in the game last night with 6 catches for 76 yards and a TD. Lets hope this kind of usage keeps up.

Here's another definition:

Murderer: Killer of another human being.
Example, David Kircus' brother. Genetics ... genetics. ... genetics ...

I was at the game (Detroit vs. Denver) and Kircus was awesome. He was the best receiver out there, hands down. On the last play of the game he was open for the tying TD but the QB threw behind him. It was great to see him outplay Charles Rodgers the first round bust that was one of the reasons the Lions released Kircus.

Of course Kircus' brother is a murderer so the Broncos will release him before the season starts.

NJ816, that could only happen if he was black. Don't you know that white criminals are a detriment to society, even to the NFL.

Just saw Sportscenter tonight, Kircus was getting jammed in practice off the line (HELD, MAULED), when he ripped the helmet of of the offending DB, before they could squre off a second DB came up to defend the first's honor. After some pushing and shoving Kircus calmly jogged back to the huddle. I didn't see any offensive players come to his defense.

Kircus is the man.He doesn't back down and because of that,he got jumped by two of his teammates.Hopefully this will earn him some respect.I really would love to see him make the team and move up to the 3rd or 4th receiver. The sad thing is that we all know that he could be a number one receiver on most teams if only we lived in a fair world. This guy has very good speed and the best hands this side of M.Hass!

What's discouraging is that he had only 1 catch for 16 yards. He was open far more than that. They need to get him the ball more.I belive he is up to the 4th spot on the depth chart however.Good luck to "Circus" Kircus!

Kircus has a 84 yard TD reception tonight.I think he's going to make it.Nate Jackson has also caught a pass.I was totally fooled because I thought Jackson was black kind of like Khalil Greene the ss for the Padres.

That touchdown was a thing of beauty at both ends. Cutler made a great, almost effortless pass, and Kircus had the entire backfield beat and cruised into the endzone.

That almost guarantees he'll be back to slicing ham and adding extra mayo. I hope I'm wrong.
