Must be regarded as one of the most versatile athletes in all of pro sports. Was a track and hockey star in HS. Was an excellentpunter for national champion Nebraska. Indeed with his speed and athleticism he could have played any skill position and I do recall Nebraska running a few trick plays with him running the ball as punter. One occasion he blew by the other team on his way to a TD.Was a great college baseball player. Went on to star with Angels and was starting CF for World Series champs.Won some Gold Gloves at center and then gets moved to first and proceeds to win a gold glove there as well. Whew! And to top it off he is a real gamer. What is next-- the NHL?

I was very impressed with him getting a Gold Glove in his very
first year at first. Of course we want to see white
centerfielders, but it will save him some wear and tear as he
gets older, and it shows off the versatility that you detailed. I
wouldn't be surprised to see him on the first bus out of
Anaheim once his contract runs out though- if not sooner. The
Angels are letting go of most of their white World Series
champions, including World Series MVP Glaus, Percival,
Eckstein, I believe reliever Ben Weber, and probably quite a
few others. They did pick up free agent Steve Finley, which
was mildly surprising.
