I like Darko's style of play and he seems to bring it on both ends of the floor. While sure he doesn't get a lot of shots, he hasn't proven himself enough to warrant many looks in the offense, but that will come with time. That mid range jumper (the lost art) he has can really stretch a defense especially if you try to put a center on him, he is a mismatch for almost any center in the league.. I can' t wait until April 7 when Orlando plays Detroit in Orlando.. I'd love to see Darko put about 30 on them.

Darko actually got some love on Sportscenter after the Orlando-Indiana game. finally. they talked about how well he is shooting and his talent for blocking shots.

Darko's now averaging just over 7 points, 2 blocks, and 4 boards for the Magic in 20 minutes per over his 11 games in Orlando. pretty impressive bump up in the stat sheet from his "human victory cigar" days in Detroit.

Utah is playing Orlando tonight. At the half Darko has logged 14 minutes has taken -o- shots? but has 4 blocks already.

He finished with 5 blocks giving him 29 in 12 games, although playing only 20 minutes a game. If he played as many minutes as the league leaders , he'd be way out in front. In his last 2 games he's blocked 10 shots with 42 minutes total time on the floor. His rebounding is good, will only get better. He passes the ball well and is shooting at a higher percentage than expected. With the added confidence in his game and hopefully a big man's coach in the off-season who could show him the ropes, this kid could blossom well next year. Too bad he wasted 2 1/2 years languishing under that little weasel Larry Brown. Edited by: Bart

Now Larry Brownstein is having problems with Stephon Marbury. Does this guy get along with anybody?

stephon hasn't gotten along with anybody in his life, not even the numerous mothers of the 11 or so babies he sired before he completed his one year at Georgia Tech. well, i guess he got along with each of them for 2 or 3 minutes, anyway.

You would think with Darko's penchant for blocking shots, the defensive minded Pistons could have used him. Surely they saw these things in practice.

Orlando played Larry Brown's Knicks this evening. To boost his confidenceI guess, Darko's coach let him playa whopping 30 minutes He sank 6-ll shots from the field, long jump shots and dunk included. He also had a couple assists a steal and- 4 -blocks.That makes seven blocks in his last 2 games playing only 42 minutes! Last week against Utah he had 5 blocks in 27 minutes, Kirilenko had 4 playing 47 minutes which indicates to me that Darkoaint no slouch. Both of these white men are awesome blocking machines!

A couple of pics from Yahoo with captions illustrate to me a subtle bias.In the first one it doesn't appear to me Harrington is putting up a shotover Darko, but rather Darko has a hand on the ball or very, very close. Judging from the trajectory and position of Harrigton's wrist, there is no way the ball wasn't deflected. The second one shows him reaching in from a distance. Zaza didn't shoot over him either

Actually, you can see the black player underneath Pachulia pushing Milicic away. Milicic isn't even really in that play anyway, looks like he was just trying to get a hand in Pachulia's face to distract him or something.

Darko is a player, and the Magic are gonna be a team to watch for the last few East playoff spots next year.. (Not that it is that much of an accomplishment..

it is amazing how little publicity he's getting now that he's actually putting up good numbers. it's like he was this big joke before when he was mired on the bench with Detroit. but now that he's showing he can be a big time contributor in the League, almost no mention is being made of him anywhere.

and they insist that the sports media is color blind. things that make you go hmmm...

Milicic is a Serb...right now the World hates Serbs. At least the Western corporate media hates Serbs, anyhow. Divac was always getting put down for his style of play...announcers took every opportunity to mock and belittle him. That sort of thing seems curiously less common with Croat, Greek, Turk and Slovenian NBA players.Edited by: JerveyGotGypped

I'm sure you'll appreciate my take on your comments, Jerve.

Most Americans don't know a Serb from a serf. They're all just "Europeans." Well, at least as long as they're not FRENCH!

Most Americans don't do colour commentary for multi-national media conglomerates or copy-edit sports magazines produced by the same. I can assure you that even a half-wit like Bill Walton is familiar enough with Serbs and his sentiments toward them fit accordingly. Surely it colours is commentary...so to speak.

Darko tonight against Chicago. Playing 27 minutes he snatched 8 boards, was 6-12 shooting and blocked 4 shots.

From Yahoo: Orlando scored six straight to pull within 84-79. The lead was down to 85-83 with 5:15 left in the game after Chicago's Tyson Chandler traveled and Darko Milicic dunked. And it was 86-85 after Milicic's finger roll with 3:01 left.

It's great to see Darko "overachieving" on a regular basis. I can't wait till he becomes a full-fledged star and really throws it back in the face of the army of Caste System "journalists" who had made his name synonymous with "major flop" when he was still just a teenager.

Orlando has played very well as of late, beating Dalls, Detroit , Miami and this evening San Antonio. Darko played 27 minutes, nabbed 7 boards, was 5-9 from field and blocked 3 shots. He's had 6 his previous 2 games playing a total of 40 something minutes. Next year should be interesting.

Darko has been playing at about the same level as last year, his stats are about the same. I'd like to see him step it up a bit more, but he is still very young and the team he is with has a lot of talented players. At least he's found a home and is happy.

Update:Milicic said he wants to stay in Orlando and that money isn't the most important factor in his re-signing with the club, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Recommendation:"Being in the right place, having good teammates who want to win, good guys. . . . that is more important than money sometime," Milicic said. "If you see those things, that is better for you." This could be no truer for Milicic, who has found a home in Orlando after riding the bench and being the human victory cigar in Detroit. His game is developing really nicely, averaging 21.6 minutes, 7.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and two blocked shots this season.
