Oklahoma's Dfensive end dan Cody is very quick. Look for him to be a first round draft pick. Mel Kiper is very high on him

Other DE's to keep an eye on in 200 NFL Draft are Matt Roth of Iowa and Ryan Riddle of Cal.

There are a few others as well.

David Pollack of Georgia should go in the first round. He may be the first DE picked. Olshansky and LaBoy both were picked high in '04 and made impacts as rookies, along with Jared Allen of KC, who is already one of the better sackers in the league. It's good to see an infusion of white talent on the d-line. A slight but noticeable comeback is taking place.

Does anyone know for sure if Shaun Cody of USC is white? He's another d-lineman who is going to be drafted early. He looks white but it's possible he is mixed.

Re: the mixed race question. Ya know if the guy looks white he's gonna be considered white.

Nick Goings (mixed race) who's doing great is considered by most to be white. I have read on several message boards where Goings was dismissed because he was "white". You know if the fans hate the guy he must be white! Goings is also said to be quiet, his favorite activity is reading, and he is known as the type of player who will do whatever the coaches want. Sounds like a white guy to me.

Goings also runs very hard every single play, which is the white style of running. The only black running back who goes all-out the way white RBs always did and still would if they were allowed to run the ball is Reuben Droughns of Denver. He was a career blocking fullback who got a chance because of injuries and made the most of it. He's not particularly talented but he runs very hard every chance he gets. All-out effort goes a long way in a league in which avoiding contact whenever possible in order to keep the paychecks coming as long as possible is more and more becoming the norm.

Goings - like all quadroons - is a white who happens to have a black
grandparent. The political climate of the time is such that it is
advantageous for them to make something of the dark quarter of their
ancestry, but knowing nothing of him would you be alarmed if he moved
in next door or your daughter brought him home?

Perhaps it is a historic legacy of the USA 'one drop' mentality. In
England, the soccer player Ryan Giggs is never considered anything
other than white even though it is well known that his father was a
    mixed-race rugby player.

The caste system may needs Goings talent to come from 25% of his genes,
just like it has for the rare 'black' swimmers and hockey players, but
he patently isn't a brother. Perhaps Caste Football could celebrate his
success, after all, he is three times more white than the sainted Tiger
    is 'black'.

I agree about Goings. It would be interesting to find out what Goings considers himself. Don has mentioned in the past that partially black athletes often get the full benefits of their small amount of black ancestry.

It is more proof that the caste system exists when a little bit of black blood, which would confer no "genetic" athletic benefit, confers a great social benefit on the athlete.

I also agree that it is a US thing going back to the 'one drop' mentality.

This is silly, but has anyone heard of the book "Black Like Me"?
The author is a white man who underwent a temporary
procedure to darken his skin back in the 60's. Then he went to
the South to document his experiences there. It'd be real
interesting to see how so many of these young white prospects
would be treated by the recruiting services, coaches, the
media, and fans if they went underwent a similar procedure.... Edited by: JD074

"Black Like Me" came out in 1960 and was one of the main propaganda tools used to launch the permanent "civil rights" revolution to overthrow Western Civilization. A movie was made of the book in 1964.

One of the appalling things the author claimed he was subjected to while masquerading as a black man in the South was the "hate stare" that some whites would give him. Wonder what he'd think now -- the "hate stare" has gone nationwide, but as a prime mode of open animosity from blacks aimed at whites as part of the one-sided race war taking place. Many whites won't make any eye contact at all with blacks, as some "youths" find that a show of "disrespect" and an excuse to assault, rob, etc.
