From articles I've read online I understand Hashim Rahman is Povetkin's mandatory. WTF is going on here? After getting trashed by Wladimir Klitschko a few years ago Rahman has beaten a few C level fighters and he's in line for another title shot. Are they really serious with this?

The WBA is the worst of the sanctioning organizations. Most of what they do makes no sense. They haven't even updated their rankings for two months, during this time all the others have at least once.
Rahman hasn't beaten a single top 100 HW since he fought Wlad.
What the WBA should do is declare a final eliminator between Rahman and someone like Ustinov. They could probably put it on the same card as one of the upcoming Klitschko fights without too much difficulty, since Rahman's promoter Cohen works with one of the Klitschkos advisors (Shelly Finkel) and Ustinov is a K-2 fighter.

Rahman was a very good fighter but he hit his prime 10 years ago. After he beat Lennox Lewis he reached his peak. The next fight Lewis beat him and he lost to Holyfield, Ruiz, and Maskaev. His performance against Klitschko in 2008 was truly sickening.

How does Hasbeen Rockhead get within sniffing distance of a title shot(even a title as watered down as the WBA "regular champion"). I don't think Rahman even has a top promoter these days, I also can think of at least 5 or 6 fighters who should get a title shot before Rahman.

5 o 6? Try like 20 or 30! As Dempsey mentioned he hasn't beaten a top 100 fighter since losing to Wladimir. The way he fought against Wladimir was pathetic. Some of the DWF's are even giving Rahman a chance against Povetkin provided he comes into the fight in "shape." Yeah, I'm sure that will help him.

It's official the WBA mandatory is Rockhead. Since Rahman is broke (or near broke) I don't think any duffle bags full of cash were used to bribe WBA officials. Maybe a duffle bag filled with steroids and syringes.....

At the Stuff Black People Don't LIke Site, in the article about the Auburn shooting, someone called "Tom" just made a post in which he wrote that "there hasn't been a white champion in boxing since Rocky Marciano in the Fifties."
Maybe he meant white American heavyweight champion, but that's what he wrote.

It looks like Vitali still wants to fight. He has slowed down some but can still fight at a high level. I just hope he doesn't give David Haye a fight which is what the loudmouth is waiting for. It's a huge payday for the non deserving Haye.

They're serious in that the fight happens September 29th. Otherwise, Rahman has done nothing to deserve a shot at the WBA "kiddie belt". This sort of BS is why I don't care that much about the belts anymore.

The scorecards for that fight were ridiculous because Gradovich won by a wide margin. The judge who scored it for Dib was obviously shady.
Viewers had it 11 rounds to 1 for the Russian, even the white-hating Teddy had him winning 116-111.

I think the 50 Cent effect was a factor in the scoring. With a known promoter behind Dibb I wouldn't be shocked to see judges giving tight rounds to the house fighter. Boxing has always had a shady history of house fighters getting the benefit of the doubt in close rounds. :frusty:

Uzbek Bahodir Mamdjonov won a vacant interim belt at lightweight. Technically Uzbeks are Eurasian but former WBA Ruslan Chagaev dubbed himself as White Tyson so you know what he felt about his racial identity.
