Cory is just a sophomore, but he is tied for 26'th in Division I-AA in rushing with 770 yards this season. He ran for 192 yards as a freshman last year and finished 2'nd in rushing. He will be something to see the next two years! His senior year in high school he had 2,457 yards in 12 games, averaging 207 yards per game, to finish with 5,192 career yards, seventh best in Iowa history. Cory is 5-11 190. Despite his success, it looks like he is now in a backup role to a Junior RB who is back from an injury. He only had 1 carry for 4 yards today.

I had been following this situation somewhat closely. When Cory got the starting job i read it was because coach Stig said "he deserved it"?? It took me buy surprise cause the guy he replaced was all-conference last season and black(Anthony Watson). So just to clarify was Watson injured??

I assumed he was injured. Their website says he was a non-starter since the Valparaiso game, which was September 10. I figured he must have gotten hurt. He ran for over 100 yards in that Valpo game, so either he got hurt, or violated a team rule, and didn't get to play for a few games.

My guess is a team rule that they are trying to keep quiet. Probably raped some white girl.

You may be right, but I doubt if it was that serious.

I would like to get to the bottom of this. Something is deffinately fishy, they sure kept things quiet. I even listened to some of the games to find out the reason they were starting Koenig but the announcers said nothing.

That is one bad thing about smaller schools, at least in my own experience. They can keep stuff swept under the rug easier, and keep the knowledge of it in house. If you find out anything, let us know.

Cory had 19 rushes for 87 yards and a TD tonight in a loss against ND State. This was a rare matchup between two record setting white RB's, with Kyle Steffes beating out Cory Koenig.

Cory had 25 carries for 126 yards and a score in a 30-14 win over Northern Colorado. He also had a 3 yard catch. SDSU finishes 6-5.
