I know its way to early for this but there seem to be quite a # of skilled position players getting offered already. I mentioned cornerback, Vic Wharton. Someone mentioned Trey Quinn the wr and someone also mentioned Christian McCaffrey who unfortunately will wind up at Duke with his wr brother. He has so many big time offers it would be nice to see him play somewhere where he will get some better exposure.
So I do not want to start a new thread for this guy. Junior wr , C. J. Warton out of South Dade High in Florida has committed to Florida State. He is the younger brother of UCF star J. J. Warton. He must be talented as Florida State never goes after guys this early especially the guys with a lack of skin color. One to watch for.

Its very early but Boston College has offered a white corner from Quebec in Alex Huard who plays for the Taft School in Waterbury , Connecticut. This kid can flat out fly and hes only a junior. He is very impressive in his sophomore highlights as a corner and wr but hes best suited for defense.

Are you just speculating about this? I don't see that info on Rivals or Scout or anywhere else. He finished up with a visit to Stanford last week. That's the last I've heard any news about his recruitment process.

Just speculating. In other news, corner back Vic Wharton received a 4 star rating on Rivals. Now only if he was black he would be 5 and a half and the rating system only goes to 5.

And he has only a handful of offers from second-tier teams. Ridiculous. Any four star black CB would have many offers from top-tier schools. The Caste system marches on...

I don't follow the recruitment process that closely. I will check the QBs every now and than - how do the numbers look in terms of white QBs? Are they being recruited by certain schools?

    Trey Quinn

Rumor in cajun land is that Trey Quinn wants to play at LSU......as the Tigers only recruit players who can run, but can't catch, he will probably be overlooked and asked to be a preferred walk-on under the racist lesticle miles who year in and year out overlooks white players from the state of Louisiana.

Check out the Trey Quinn thread started....LSU offered Trey at Summer Camp after burning Class of 13' high profile DB recruits on the regular!....Texas A&M is also after him big time! TWO Camps...TWO offers!! Trey is an elite athlete with 4.39 speed(Rivals needs to update VJ/he can dunk).. if he were to attend 124 camps...he'd get 124 offers straight up! Nothing but respect on the feedback from the affletes getting torched in the secondary!

Wonder if Ole Miss or Mississippi State will allow Wharton to stay at cornerback or move him to safety?? Ohio State & Notre Dame have also offered...Alabama is actually interested in him as a corner(have not had a white corner since John Mangum in 80's)..others interested in him as a slot reciever(go figure) & return specialist.

thanks twenty two, as an LSU "fan" (only when we have at least a better than average diversity mix, meaning a white QB, at least 3-4 OL, TE and a few guys on D) it would be great for the young man to become a trend setter at LSU. lesticle has not signed a single white player from Louisiana in the last 2 recruiting seasons that was not a QB or kicker....... schools such as LA Tech and Louisiana Lafayette have benefited greatly as well as a few out of state schools.

There is another junior corner prospect out of Owasso , Oklahoma who I briefly mentioned before is 5'9" 170 lb. , 4.5 speed Tyler Lindsey. He is exceptional in man coverage and is already getting interest from Tulsa, Michigan State and K-State. Iv'e seen many of our guys get early interest from big time schools and they still wind up in D 2 or wherever but this kid has a ton of talent. Top 30 or 40 corners in 2014 if he was not white.

Another prospect starting to gain recruiting attention is Austin Proehl son of Ricky. I can't find any good video but I would not be surprised if he wound up at Wake Forest in a couple of years.

Valor's Christian McCaffrey following big footsteps of Ed

    ...

McCaffrey, named the game's MVP, proved to be the difference. The tailback-wildcat back-defensive back-punter-returner ended up with a rather average (for him) 156 rushing and receiving yards, but his major contribution was as a punt returner — and he didn't even have one.

    ...

Among the witnesses Saturday was David Shaw, the Stanford coach. Fresh from his own Pac-12 championship Friday night, Shaw flew to Denver to watch Valor Christian and in particular, Christian. "I knew Coach Shaw was here, but we couldn't talk (NCAA regulations). Too bad he had to pick out this game to see me."

But the Cardinal could have the inside advantage for McCaffrey, who will decide sometime before his senior season where to play college ball. Christian's father Ed, and an ex-quarterback named Elway, played at Stanford.

McCaffrey finished with 1,508 yards rushing, 717 yards receiving, 387 yards returning, for a total of 2,612 — and get this: 42 touchdowns this season.

Corner prospects Ross Drwal, Vic Wharton, Tyler Lindsey and Alex Huard look to be solid d1 prospects and rivals has listed a new corner prospect in Bryson Durden from McDonaugh, Georgia. He played corner and safety last year but he is only 5'9" and probably 165 pounds soaking wet but he is impressive in both positions. He runs between a 11.3 to 11.6 100 meters but is extremely quick and his change of direction skills are impressive. He wants to play for LSU or TCU in an interview I read but I hope he learns about the caste system before its to late. The good news is he was in a few football camps this summer and all the coaches raves at his corner skills so I dont see him playing safety in the future.

There is a VERY explosive wr from Fairview , Colorado picking up some recruiting steam in Sam Martin. He is 6'3" and 180 lbs. and is reported and looks to have legitemate 4.4 speed. He led the entire state in receiving yards this year with over 130.0 a game. He looks like a Trey Quinn clone but maybe not the overall athleticism when the ball is in the air. He is reported have a high interest in U. of Colorado if they offer.

Nice find. He has some highlights on YouTube.

No matter his size and skill level, I doubt CSU's (SEC-loving) McElwain will offer him and I doubt Colorado's new coach will either. We'll see. Maybe Air Force will.

Vic Wharton has committed to Tennessee. Good news here but apparently Butch Jones wants to try him in the " Welker " before trying for corner. At least he should be their main kick returner for 3 or 4 years. He is that special.

Rivals currently has Mark Andrews as their number 4 ranked reciever for 2014. He is 6'6 225 so I suspect he will be thier their number 5 TE by next season.

Christian McCaffrey is visiting Alabama this weekend. I sure hope he doesn't end up accepting a scholarship from them if they should happen to offer one.

If Alabama is so interested, why didn't they offer him a year ago like most of the other teams? Saban probably just wants another 4-star Rivals recruit to up his team's rankings because he'll get some kind of bonus or something. I'm hoping Christian chooses Stanford.

I found this from some DWF regarding Christian's visit there this weekend:

"There is no way this guy is going to be a starter as a running back. No, I am not bleeding sour grapes. What I am talking about is reality-Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and now the #1 running back out of Georgia-Tyren Jones- if it's white, it ain't right. Good luck Christian. You won't be starting for Alabama as a running back. Take that one to the bank."

McCaffrey just received a scholarship offer from Michigan.

Of course, Michigan sees him as:

"...an explosive player who they would like to use for end-around plays while lining up in the slot."

This is a legit 4-star "All Purpose" back with 4.4 speed. From their statement, it doesn't look like he'd even be utilized as traditional slot receiver, but just playing that position to run "end-around plays".

I hope he makes a wise decision on whom he ends up playing for.

Rivals.com just came out with their Top 250 for 2014...skimming thru the list they did not deviate too much from the script. Does not seem much different from years past; however have not had a chance to go into detailed numbers...

    The Skill Players i noticed...
#87 WR-Mark Andrews from Arizona..at 6-6" 225...hope he stays at WR; could grow into TE
#102 WR-Trey Quinn from Louisiana...led state with 115 rec..over 2,100yds..26 TD's...if he were black no doubt a Top 100..."Trey Quinn's production speaks for itself," Rivals.com Southwest analyst Jason Howell said. "He recorded over 2,100 yards and 26 touchdowns on the year. He has flypaper hands and is a technical route runner, but he is also extremely athletic and has great body control."
    #195 RB-Christian McCaffrey from Colorado...mentioned above
#229 DB-Vic Wharton from Tennessee..highest rated white corner i can remember on racist rivals..Committed to Tennessee already

A step backwards..highest rated Defensive Player..not until #58...Outside-LB Dillon Bates from FL..2013 was not this bad!

Highest rated player not found til #18 Dual-threat QB Will Grier(NC)committed to Florida
    #19 O-Lineman 6'-6" 275 Braden Smith from Kansas
#20 QB 6'-4" 230 Keller Chryst from California

I am pretty sure they meant end arounds while ALSO playing in the slot. They would have not put the "while" in there, you can run end arounds from the outside receiver spot as well. You can't just line a guy up in the slot and not have him run actual routes and catch the ball. I guess they see him as a hybrid player like Percy Harvin (who was used mostly in the slot and still is) or Livas from LA Tech, both teams found creative ways to get them to run the ball and they had a balance between running and receiving.

watch the end arounds on this video
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v31pT_20LYc

I really wish they would use that with Welker, and espescially Woodhead when he is in the slot. If that guy had more agility and didn't have to gear down so much to make people miss (non factor against bigger teams unless it was a wide open crease straight ahead) then he would probably be in the NFL and not the CFL. I think Welker has already carved out his role so Woodhead would be better, and he has great top end speed and agility. Haven't looked at McCaffrey so I don't know.

I mean I think its the best way to get more of our guys involved with runnin the ball, if you look at the Livas tape, there are very creative ways to get your wide receiver carries that are pretty much like a traditional halfback but originally lined up as a wr, they have a blocker in front of him, sometimes a blocker that pulls that way. I think I can see coaches be more accepting of using their White slot receivers (who are usually built more like runningbacks) as runners as well as receivers. With Vereen having a good few games Woodhead will probably have to battle both he and Ridley, so lining up half and half wouldn't be bad if half of the time in the slot they design runs for him. There were runs with the wr as the runner but the guy lined up as the tailback winding up as the blocking back. That could be Ridley.

edit: just watched McCaffrey's highlights, looks like the complete package, he runs a lot of routes that a slot receiver would run, even lining up in the slot a bit, and a few times on the outside. I would mix his role up a bit. I would be looking to get 800 yards rushing and 800 yards receiving out of him, which might wind up being like 800 yards receiving, 400 yards rushing.

I could see McCaffrey going to Stanford.
The kid has tremendous bloodlines. The fact that his father is Ed McCaffrey and I believe his maternal grandfather is world class sprinter Dave Simm from the late 50's.
The fact his father played at Stanford probably gives them a leg up in the recruiting war.

Not that it's imortant but, as I stated on the Christian McCaffrey thread, WDB predicted CM would end up at Duke.

Something that is somewhat interesting is the fact that CM garnered so much attention as a white RB, while so many other white RB's don't. Is anyone here curious at all about this? I know he has a famous dad, but it is that solely the reason? If it is, I sense the DWF's will say I told you so, if he doesn't produce at Stanford, although I don't think that will happen.

The subject of white RB's and how little attention they receive from D-1 schools is generally a huge topic of discussion here. Just wondering if anyone knows how CM did it, if it came from something other than his bloodlines?
