Agreed Don, Rex had all the makings of. 1,000 rushing, 300-400 yards receiving and 8-10 TDs average for a very good career in NE had he been able to stay healthy. He was clearly the running back the coach trusted the most when needing a sure-fire first down or tough yards.

I’m quite saddened to see CMC’s rash of injuries, but would not be one bit sorry to see him out of Carolina... would love to see his dynamic game up in Buffalo, for example. Crossing my fingers just a rash of fluke injuries and we will finish the last 7 weeks of the season strong and be healthy from there on out.

Rumors are now that McCaffery is available for trade and may get sent to Houston along with three 1st round draft picks.

Obviously for Watson the serial sexual assaulter? I thought they were extending Darnold no matter what?

If that sort of deal is completed, you've got to seriously consider that the NFL is not unlike championship wrestling. Any thinking person would nix that pretty quickly. I've sometimes wondered how fixed it all is; that kind of stupidity would push it over the top. Too many deals, trades, and the use of players are making no sense. If it is all above board, then too many of these people are utter morons and if some of these owners wanted to win, it is just too easy to hire someone who is a logical thinker.

He better get his ass on the field this week. As I said a few weeks ago, he is slowly losing his job and will now be part of a running back committee per his head coach.

A somewhat lighter standard workload wouldn't be a bad thing for C-Mac. Being a feature back leads to a high probability of injury, just like what happened to Derrick Henry recently.

That said, Christian should be acknowledged without question as the best running back on the team, and any "committee" needs to have him as the unquestioned #1. Something like 15-20 carries per game for him would be ideal.

Smaller snap count, 20-25 touches per game, 15-20 runs, 5-10 receptions would be ideal agreed.

It's about time! I wonder what kind of shape he's coming back in, not sure how limited he was in training.

I’d prefer he sit this week and the next as it is their bye. He’s already come back too soon once.

McCaffrey placed on season ending IR.

Hard to see him ever being the bellcow back again after two lost seasons in a row. Running backs have the shortest NFL careers and Christian's best days are behind him now. What makes it leave such a bad taste is that we know there are plenty of capable White running backs and have been ever since the Caste System began. But there's no "pipeline," not a single replacement in sight other than possibly Borghi. Meantime, Crissie and Turico are whining about how tough black QBs still have it. Complete inversion of reality as is almost always the case with the fake news media and fake news sports media.

I’m extremely down on CMC’s injury status. Unfortunately he seems to have been bitten by the injury bug. I don’t think anything will change in Carolina... that team is a caste hell-hole and sinking fast.

McCaffrey and JJ Watt both started to get injured after getting celebrity girlfriends. For whatever reason, there seems to be a correlation. Maybe nose not to the grindstone like in the past.

McCaffrey needs to get out of Carolina FAST and get a fresh start somewhere. Buffalo is my obvious choice.

McCaffery is 25/26 - I think these injuries are not the type that will alter his ability. It’s too bad this injury is putting him on IR. I hope he gets out of Carolina. I still think he has some good years left though.

He could well have some very good years left, but after I think it's four different injuries in the past two seasons that have shelved him, what team is going to build their running game around him now? When this season ends he'll have played in just 10 of Carolina's past 33 games.

Take melanin out of it, looking at it objectively he can still help a team tremendously if he can stay healthy, but most likely as part of a RBBC.

Haha women have been the downfall of many great men!! Maybe they need to practice a little sexual transmutation and trade in the Celeb skanks for a trad wife while they’re at it.

I’m not saying it is the reason by any means, just the coincidental scenarios of both men. I also agree a traditional girlfriend/wife is a much better option.

McCaffrey is to much a God-fearing man to trifle with his current lady... she is a narcissistic Instagram model. He can do so much better.

I also agree he has several good years left but losing two of his prime years means he won’t make the HOF realistically. Running back need around 10 great, productive years to make it. A shame what might have been.

I can't help but think about this line...

I wonder if Carolina won't try and make him more of Woodhead type back or even transition him to a slot receiver which IMO he would be the best in the league with his wiggle and vision. Many old time running backs transitioned over to wide receiver and had productive careers at receiver.

I believe I know the particular play he was injured on. It's the play that I mentioned on Sunday. There were 8 DL on the line of scrimmage and two more LB's behind them. In other words, 10 in the box. The QB that will remain nameless because of his color. I promised never to mention his name again on this site. His initials are CN, instead of calling a time out or an audible took the snap and handed the ball to McCaffrey where no less than 3 DL were waiting for him. It looked like they crushed him as he disappeared into a black mass. I'm not saying the QB did this on purpose, but it made absolutely no sense to me. It was like this for most of the game. McCaffrey did have a few open holes, but most of what he got was by his will to not go down. Very unfortunate for McCaffrey, but there's not many RB's of his size that could continuously take the punishment he has. I haven't given up on Christian just yet. Although he was a bigger RB, John Riggins came back from injuries to rush for over 11,000 yards.

The only defense I can make for Fig Newton is maybe he isn't playing with the full playbook and can't call audibles on the line with new verbage and small playbook. Of course if that is the case he should be a specialist and come in on short yardage and goal line plays and then he can scream he is "BBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAACCCCK".
