The Jaguars hired Chris Polian as Director of Pro Personnel. We all know his dad was White friendly for many years - or least as White friendly as you can be in this league. It remains to be seen if the younger Polian can be as close as his mentor was to being an equal opportunity employer. Regardless, he may not have the influence within the organization to swing the pendulum one way or the other at this time. The reason I thought the hiring was significant was, after the draft, front offices seem to be moving further down the road of the caste system, if that’s possible. You know it’s bad when you are speculating one day Peyton Manning will be GM of a team and putting together a team that looks like the ones his dad played for.
