The Favre name is almost like the Smith name around these parts. I’ve known several growing up. I believe the first European resident in Hanc0ck County was a Favre and an Indian interpreter for the French. His son had two or three wives and one was Choctaw. A couple of sons were born from the latter. There are more than a few Farves around today that can claim Indian ancestry from way back. I’m pretty sure if you have just 1/132 Indian ancestry or something and the rest is European you are White. They say Brett is ¼ Choctaw, however. It shouldn’t be a big issue, but I often wondered how the media felt about that.
