This story is from the Daily Telegraph. Instead of teams getting points for scoring goals and winning games, they will be awarded points for political correctness and supporting gay rights. Where can I buy my season ticket!?

Portsmouth's Sol Campbell wants clubs to be docked points for fans' racist abuse

The England international and Portsmouth captain was subjected to abuse during Portsmouth's Fratton Park game against Tottenham in September. As a result, Hampshire police launched an investigation and after releasing photographs on the internet of 16 suspects, charges were brought of 'indecent chanting at a designated football match' against 11 people.

Subsequently four of the 11 Tottenham fans to be charged pleaded guilty and were fined and given three-year football banning orders. The remaining seven pleaded not guilty and face trial in May.

Campbell said of the game's authorities: "I think that they are going to have to do more. My situation is a small part. But also, you have the racial abuse in the rest of Europe. The only way you can stop it from happening is by taking points from clubs.

"Then it would definitely stop. If it's just way over the top and you start taking points ... [with] those three points, you can lose the championship or you can be going down. That's the only way you can stop fans' abuse on that type of level.

"There is all sorts up and down the league, there is always someone saying something or part of the crowd saying something to certain players, but there is a level and once that level is crossed, I think people have to step in and sort it out.

"Football seems to think it can keep on going without getting checked. In most other sports on this level, it doesn't happen. You're not going to get that in tennis, rugby, cricket or athletics. It's just not accepted.ÂÂ￾h

Campbell added: "The arrests woke up a lot of people because some people just thought 'I never thought it was wrong' - that's unbelievable - [or] 'That wasn't me', as if football turns people into some different kind of person. 'I've paid my money and I can say and do whatever I want at any time I want within that 90 minutes'.

"There is a level. You say that on the streets and youÂÂ￾fd be arrested or put away. You wouldnÂÂ￾ft say that to your son or daughter and if that was said to your son or daughter, would you be the same? ThatÂÂ￾fs what people have to remember."

I can imagine what Yankee fans yell at some of the players.

I can't believe you can be arrested for a racial comment in England. I guess they don't have freedom of speech in the UK. I can undestand if you are harassing somebody constantly on the street that the gov't should be able to make you stop. If I walked out of the house and someone came up to me everyday and was calling me names and bothering me constantly,I think that should be stopped, but there is a line between harassment and just freedom of speech. I don't think it should be a crime to call someone a name when the person is participating in a public event and asking people to pay attention to him. It should only be a crime if someone is being harassed or stalked in their private life and the person will not let them live in peace. But just calling someone a name shouldn't be a crime. Also, if a private company wants to regulate the atmosphere at their place of business, they can do it by banning behavior they don't like, such as "racial slurs" or having a dress code.

I wonder if anyone got in trouble in the UK when they made slurs against the Irish. I doubt it. I saw an interview with an Irishman and he said that years ago everybody called him Paddy. Is that not a slur?

I wonder if the Muslims are fined for all the things they say? There was a judge in England that apologized to a Muslim defendant because he had to appear in court on a Muslim holiday. What a joke.

Good points, What I don't get is why a racial slur should be considered worse than, say, making a remark about someone's height. Why is "black bastard" worse than "short bastard"?

I think a lot of it has to do with covering up the fact that Blacks as a race have rightly earned themselves a bad repuation. I never mind people mentioning my race, as, even if they are trying to diss me, the mention of my race - Scots - always works as a compliment, unintended or otherwise. Call me a "Scottish bastard" and it'll always be less of an insult than just plain "bastard."

Campbell should concentrate on representing his race as best he can rather than endorsing Orwellian thought control bullsh*t.

It's OK for a Muslim to shout Anti-Christian, Anti-Western, Anti-British, and Anti-American profanities. It's even OK for them to burn a various Western flags and Christian symbols.

But when a Christian goes militant and does the same things against Islam, it's absolute condemnation from the entire Muslim world and from the left-wing British media. Since when did these "people" become so important and delicate? Since when did it become a crime for Christians to speak out against Isalm? Absolute RUBBISH!!!!

One problem with Muslim's shouting racist, genocidal abuse against "infidel" Europeans is that the police who are still mainly White don't understand their language. Liberals see this as a reason to increase the number of Muslims in the police force, while sensible people think that maybe we shouldn't have populations whose crimes are protected by their ethnicity. In other words, send them back.

In recent years there has been a massive growth in ethnic crime gangs in the UK - Albanian, Pakistani, Jamaican, Chinese, Eastern European, you name it. These are particularly difficult for the cops to infiltrate or to find informers, simply because the cultural barriers between cops and crooks is so great.

Karl, Now the Mexicans are trying to get into the UK.I guess they are getting tired of the US. Did you hear about the Mexican who was stopped at the Manchester Airport and questioned. He admitted he was going there to over stay his visa after they found a letter from his family in his bags telling him to enjoy his life in the UK. The American media called him an unauthorized immigrant.

They can smell the welfare. This, combined with the leniecy of the law and the chance to do various scams not available to the native population, is what attracts these Third World riff raff. Word gets around that Britain is a soft touch and that anyone from anywhere, if they are economically dysfunctional and useless enough, will get taken care of in a way denied to native Brits: free accommodation, social security, and the native population to mug, rob, cheat, swindle, rape, and sell drugs to. Overstayed visa? No problem. Just claim asylum or say you are gay and you will be beaten up if you return to your traditional society. The level of tolerance for this kind of abuse of British humanitarianism is unbelievable, and is one reason why the BNP is fast gaining ground.
