BYU has had an up and down season so far. They won against Utah for the first time in 2 years last week, and then almost got blown out by UNLV Wednesday night. They are 9-5 on the season, with Wyoming coming to Provo next Wednesday. The good thing is that at least 3 whites are on the floor at all times. More often than not, there are 4, and sometimes all 5 are white. Austin Ainge, son of Danny, seems to be improving quickly, and Trent Plaisted is having a good year. I will keep you updated on their progress throughout the rest of the season.

On another note, the BYU women are 15-1, with their only loss a 2 pointer to NC State. They play at Wyoming next Wednesday.Edited by: Colonel_Reb

What year is Ainge's son? I was watching a bit of the game against Air Force, and I believe they said he was a starter last year and played well but now comes off the bench? if that is true, why is this?

Ainge is a Junior, and yes he started last year. He was 3'rd in the MWC in assists, both in league games and overall. He was honorable mention all MWC and was 2'nd on the team in scoring. I can't tell you for sure why he isn't starting this year, but Dave Rose is a first year coach and he apparently made the change at some point. I will have to do more research and get back to you on that one, ocaamikedm11.

Yeah I was just a little surprised to hear that, considering he was honorable mention all MWC... at any rate, they are definitely one of the better teams in college basketball to root for.

I don't know why Rose pulled him from the lineup, as he had no off-season injuries last year. It could be the style of offense he runs, I don't know enough about basketball to be sure. Maybe someone else out there could better inform us of why. I know BYU got a black guard from a Nebraska JC this year, and he is playing a lot. Maybe Rose is more of a Caste System junkie than Steve Cleveland, I don't know. Edited by: Colonel_Reb

BYU just sank Wyoming 80-67, with Austin Ainge getting the start at guard over Rashaun Broadus, the black who took his place at the beginning of the year. Both Ainge and Trent Plaisted had great games. Wyoming was supposed to be the best MWC team, and they are definitely one of the blackest as far as starting players goes. After talking to a knowledgeable BYU basketball fan today, I found out that part of the reason Ainge hasn't started over Broadus is because he outplayed Ainge before the season. The other part is the new style of offense, which gives the guard less responsibility than the ones under the previous coach. I don't know that that is the whole story, but its better than what I knew.

BYU started 5 whites last night against Wyoming! Ainge ended up with 12, while Plaisted led the team with 17, and Lee Cummard had 13. It was a good win that evens BYU up at 2-2 in the MWC. They play at San Diego State Saturday night.

I read in an ESPN.com article the other day that Wyoming was one of the favorites to win the MWC, so this is certainly encouraging to see BYU beat them. Maybe the new coach tried to work into the system, but realized that he wasn't going to win so has finally resorted to playing the 5 best players.. all white! San Diego State is another favorite however, and a win over them would be huge.

BYU came back from 8 points down with one minute to go in regulation to tie TCU, and then won the game in overtime! This is exactly the opposite of what happened during the BYU-TCU football game this past season. Go Cougars!

BYU just beat Colorado State to go 12-6 on the year! If they can keep winning, they may have a shot at the NCAA tournament.

BYU beat New Mexico to move to 13-6 and 5-3 in the MWC. They play Air Force at home in a big game Saturday.

Hopefully they have a better showing this time around, because I remember watching Air Force hand it to em earlier this year. It would be a huge win for BYU and playing at home should definitely be a boost.

Great news! I now have 2 subversive teams to cheer for - BYU and WVU. Any other mostly white college basketballteams?

Yeah Bunnyman, cheer for #2 Duke and #5 Gonzaga! They have the nations two top scorers, both white. Adam Morrison and J.J. Redick.

Cool. How many of the starters for Duke and Gozaga are white? Sounds like BYU has 4 white starters and WVU has 3 starters and their 6th man is white.

Looks like Gonzaga has started 3 whites in most games. They also are starting a Brazilian. Duke is starting 3 for most games as well.

It will be hard for them to get an at-large bid with a cluster at the top of MWC who usually only gets 3 at the most, they need to continue playing well. I'm not sure if there is an MWC conference tourny but i believe there is, so hopefully they can roll through it for a guaranteed birth.

There is a MWC tourney ocaamikedm11, and they will have to do well in it to get to the NCAA's.

By the way, the BYU women are now 19-1 and ranked 18'th in both polls. They play at home against Utah tomorrow night.

The BYU guys won a good one tonight against UNLV. They are now 15-7, and are now tied for 3'rd in the MWC with Air Force. UNLV and San Diego State are ahead of them.

The way the bubble teams are shaping up, it's going to be tough for BYU to earn an at large if some of those ACC teams that have struggled all year get hot.. we all know that the committee screws much more deserving teams in lesser known conferences just for the sake of money for the bigger colleges to get in..

I see BYU won again this weekend. I am really cheering for these guys though I have yet to see them on TV. Duke, BYU, Iowa, West Virginia and Gonzaga are the most subversive teams in terms of undermining the racist caste system in college basketball. May they all go far in the NCAA tourny and may one of them (Duke or Gonzaga most likely) win outright.

BYU has a big one tonight against San Diego State.
