Man, I didn't know it was that bad. That's pathetic. I guess the diversity (Caste System) gods must be smiling on Detroit now.

The minors are approximately half hispanic now, which means the average MLB lineup will be half non-American hispanic shortly. It's about a third on average now. Some franchises have gone that way more than others, ala the Marlins, supposedly to turn large existing hispanic communities into fans who attend games but it hasn't worked, the vast majority of fans everywhere remain white. It's sort of like when the Washington Capitols put three blacks on their roster with the idea of putting blacks in the seats. Yeah, right.

The Tigers have enough trouble drawing as it is. Fielding Aztlan's Team isn't going to help unless it's actually a good team. Edited by: Don Wassall

"Aztlan's team" Very well put Don!I just wonder how long it will take for the average baseball fan to realize that the teams rosters of this "American Pastime"have been engineered to reflect the population of most of our "American" cities.

An interesting look at how the game has changed, and who is now playing it,will bee seen when the New York Yankees meet the Baltimore Orioles. And this just one matchup!

It is a solid sign to read the postings of the new members at this board, and sense a new awareness of the racial makeup of our teams, and how White players are being forced out!

As spring training nears, lets all take a look at how our sons, brothers, nephews, and even our grand children may possibly be discriminated against because of their race, even when the ability level says that this should not be the case!

Who cares about Detroit? They are the best
minor league team in baseball. They are like those all black
football and basketball teams that always stink. Maybe this will
change scouts MO's when it comes to recruiting. Baseball is an
international game and since America is the richest country in the
world, foreign players are naturally attracted to it. I would
expect more foreigners playing the game.

Baseball is similar to football, but the caste system kicks in one level later in baseball. In football the great white high school players at many positions are not recruited and developed at the elite college programs. In baseball, the best college programs are usually all-white or close to it because so few American blacks are good at baseball these days, but many of these white college stars don't get a chance to make the majors because of the emphasis on recruiting hispanics from outside the U.S.

Many of the hispanic kids are signed at a very young age and MLB franchises sink a lot of money into developing them and thus have more incentive to put them in the minors instead of many deserving white American players. I wonder how much money the average MLB team puts into scouting and building "academies" in Central America as compared to what they spend looking for and developing talent in the U.S., which is overwhelmingly white.

Japan does it the right way by limiting the number of non-Japanese who can play in their top league. The U.S. should do the same, and then more of an emphasis can be put on international rivalries -- a real "World Series" in addition to America's own World Series. Of course at this point in time in the world capitol of "diversity" and "multiculturalism" such is wishful thinking.

Carlos Pena was a star out of Northeastern and lit
up the Cape Cod league, but I think most hispanics fit the mold that
you are talking about Don. I do not know if the US should "quota"
its professional league, but feel they should put more emphasis on
amateur competition at the adult level. The US needs to excell at
the Olympics in baseball. Baseball needs more international
tournaments. Then more Americans will be showcased.
