Anyone familiar with this recruiting guru clown ?He writes for prepstars that puts out a recruiting handbook. He refuses to believe that most of not all white players are inferior to blacks in areas of speed, quickness and of course leaping ability. He routinely praises black prospects in the most glowing terms using colorful adjectives such as skyscraping, superb run/jump athlete, mind boggling speed etc etc. Terms he uses for white prospects- how about average athlete, slow, average quicks, no leaping ability, decent but not great athlete--basically the most praise he uses, can be out quicked by better(ie black players) athletes and on and on. On Gary Mcnamara--others may be quicker and/or stronger--and that is when he is in complimnetory mode.

Jack McCallum is SI's head pro BB writer and after countless years I still have not seen him refer to a white player as quick or springy. Closest he came is with Ginobli who he called a rodent or something.. Meanwhile he is over exuberant when describing black athletes quickness and leaping ability. This guy has been at it for so long I cannot believe it. Very smug about it too. Whenever Larry Bird's name comes up he has to interject that he wasn't a great athlete. His opinion not mine .Anyone else have thoughts on these influentialtwo writers who seem intent on stereotyping athletes?

Should add names of USA Today's David Dupree (who is black )and ****Ppatrick--is it same guy as announcer?. Both these guys routinely point out lack of speed by white players, men and women.. Over and over again. Recently Dupree said Nowitzki is slow BUT--blah blah blah. The guy is over 7 feet and is agile. Of course he is not going to win ythe 100 meter dash but either is media athletic darling Kevin Garnett. Dupree would never say that about Garnett etc.If I was editor to a newspaper I would cut that garbage out and start approaching sports at a more realistic and fair level without all the stereotyping.

Honestly I cannot think of a single time when a national sports media member has complimented a white player about his athleticism without some qualifying remark like: "he's quick but not the fastest guy out there" (which is true of everybody since there will only be one fastest guy). These guys have it in their head that there is not one white athlete EVER that is as good an athlete as ANY current black player. None! Zero, zilch, nada! End of story. Black athletic dominance is total and supreme. Makes me sick.

I can think of some. Bill Waltonand Michael Bream(sp) have praised white speed -athleticism more so than others it seems. But I share your eternal frustration. I get very peeved over the stereotyping. And it makes me sick too if truth be told.
