To say that Brian Leonard would be a Top 5 pick with 379 yards gained if he was black is simply absurd.

If he was black he likely wouldnt have been moved behind ray rice, seeing as hes runs and leaps over people with regularity. Look at the video on http://www.brianleonard23.com/
would a black who leaps over people like that be told to block for his career?

Well no. cos black guys are better. Thats just the way it is

Rashaan Salaam won the Heisman, and was close to the NCAA rushing title that year. He SUCKED in the pros. College success doesn't necessarily equate to pro success.

But it did equate to the 21st pick overall.

Look, you guys are basing your opinion on emotion, not the hard facts.  Ray Rice is a BETTER RUNNING BACK.  He PROVED it.  THAT'S why he got the job.  The coach wanted to WIN GAMES, and they did.

The reason you feebly blame race is because you can't argue the numbers.. and you KNOW Ray's numbers, so it serves no purpose to post them.  To say that Brian Leonard would be a Top 5 pick with 379 yards gained if he was black is simply absurd.

Matt Haas was bounced for Marques Colston.  He had over 1,000 yards in 13 games.  Rashaan Salaam won the Heisman, and was close to the NCAA rushing title that year.  He SUCKED in the pros.  College success doesn't necessarily equate to pro success.

then how come great white running backs get screwed over in the NFL? Luke Staley won the Doak Walker Award (best college RB) and gets drafted in the 7th rd!? Even when his stats are comparable to, or better than most of the black RB drafted in 2003. LDT and Larry Johnson won the same award the 2001 and 2003 and they both went in the 1st rd. No one who won the Doak Walker Award has ever gone past the 3nd rd(more than 90% in the 1st rd),except Luke Staley. Critics tried to dismiss Luke as injury prone beacause of an injury his sophmore year. However a guy like Willis McGahee blows out his knee in his last college game, gets drafted in the 1st rd, and is allowed to sit for a year!? No white athlete would ever be givin this kind of treatment. There is definitly bias againsts whites in the NFL, some people just choose not to see it.

How exactly did Ray Rice prove he is a better running back? How do you know Leonard wouldn't have done the same or better?

How did Ray Rice prove he's a better back? Are you kidding? In 2003 and 2004, when Leonard was the feature back, Rutgers SUCKED, and his numbers were paltry. He had 880 yards at 4.1 per his freshman year, and 732 at 3.7 his sophomore.

In 2005, when Rice was a true 18 year old freshman, they shared the load. Rice's numbers SKUNKED Leonard's..WHO WAS 21 at the time. That's simply a fact. You canalways try to talk up hispositives for "Caste" purposes, but theoverall truth is the truth. At the end of the day, coaches want to install the best player to ensure VICTORIES. Rice, regardless of his color, just happened to be that player. They saw it in him during practice. That's why he became the feature back. The coaching staff was RIGHT! He JOGGED 1,800 yards,at a 5.7 clip, and number 2 in the country.

Rice put the team on his back, scored 20 touchdowns, andcarried them to 11 wins. I live in New Jersey, and follow and like both players..but you can't impeach the truth. Leonard was replaced by a MORE CAPABLEBACK. It happens. To cry race, in light of the numbers, is just ridiculous. Brady Quinn, a true freshman at the time, uprooted Carlyle Holiday. You know why? BECAUSE HE WAS A BETTER QUARTERBACK! Coaches make tough decisions for the betterment of the team. It's not the end of the world.

Why was Haas bounced for Marques Colston?
How do you know Haas wouldn't have done the same or better?

I dont know why, but the decision-makers are paid to improve the team.Marques Colston is one of the top wideouts in the game.He was integral in the Saint's resurgence. The coaching staffsaw the potential in him,

Who knows how Haas would have done. Maybe he would have done well, maybe he would have stunk up the joint. It'sirrelevant at this point.Maybe they felt his system at OS was conducive to his productivity.Maybe they felt his lack of speed wouldonly have be effective againstinferior collegecorners. If teams saw potential in him,and thought they could utilize him to win games, they would play him.If he showed major league, NFL potential while on the practice squads, he'd be used.

Matt Jones didn't play wideout in college, but the Jacksonville staff saw raw talent and athleticism in him, and drafted him with the #21 pick TO PLAY WIDEOUT. The fact that J'ville drafted him, and played him at a totally foreign position, blows a chasmic hole in your theory.

The espn story about Ray rice replacing Brian Leonard is crap. Brian leonard never played tailback. His whole career he either lined up at fullback or as a lone set back. He went to the worst program in the in the country that plays in a very good leage and rushed for 880 yards. Rutgers did not suck because of Brian leonard, Brian Leonard was held down by Rutgers absolut lack of any talent.

You claim to follow Rutgers how can you compare the team from last year and when Leonard was a freshman. Also do you not realize that there is a difference between the way Leonard and Rice were used. Leonard blocked for Rice and never came of the field. He also always lined up with no lead blocker. They had two different Offences one for Rice and one for Leonard so you can't say that if Brian had not been used in the same way as Rice he would have been

Actually, your example proves the existence of the caste system, not the other way around. Please explain why Matt Jones was drafted as a wide receiver and not a quarter back, when a player (Tarvarius Jackson, Minnesota Vikings) who could not beat him for a spot at the college level is now a starting quarterback in the NFL?

Please explain why someone like Mike Vick is considered a 'dual threat' at quarterback, while Matt Jones is only good enough to be a wide receiver?

Somewhere deep in the recesses of what you call a mind, you realize what we're saying is true. That's why you are here. I suggest you spend more time reading through the threads on this site instead of trying to engage us with arguments that have already been made ad infinitum about coaches who 'only want the best people,' or who have 'the best interests of the team at heart,' or those who 'only want to win.'

Whatever.

Yes, Rutgers stank prior to 2005. Brian Leonard was the lone bright spot. Despite no blocking backs for him, and an abysmal offensive line, Brian still managed to shine. If he had been given the same opportunities as Rice, there is no doubt in my mind thatBrian would have run for even more yards and TDs. Rice had the advantages of pro-black coaches, a world class blocker in Brian Leonard, a much improved offensive line, and the existence of an actual passing game. Brian carried the team on HIS back, and he did it through his last game. I'm afraid you'll see that we are right once this next season gets going. Rice will be exposed for the mediocre back that he is.

Why do you say what happened to Hass doesn't matter now, or that if had showed potential, he would have been used? I read the reports from the Saints training camp in Mississippi every day this past summer. Hass was VERY IMPRESSIVE throughout the whole period in which he was given a chance. He was screwed because he is white and there is no denying it. No Belitnikoff winner has ever been cut by a team, especially one who's coaches were impressed with him prior to the preseason games. Just like Luke Staley, his melanin deficiency spelled his doom.

Be honest man, when coaches like Bobby Bowden literally fall over laughing when asked why whites don't play tailback anymore, you can bet that coaches don't evaluate players objectively. They realize the artificially manufactured racial barriers that exist can rarely be crossed without severe penalties, and they do their part to see that they arenot punished. Maybe one day you'll get it, but you'll have tolearn to think for yourself and notswallow the Caste line of anti-white BS all the time.

Guests heres an arguement against you. Tony Hunt runs with a lead blocker in an offense designed for him as a HB

Tony Hunt: 2006

Att Yard p/Ca LNG TD
277 1386 5.0 41 11

Leonard: 2005
173740 4.3 83 11 and 6 REC TDS&nb sp;

Leonard put up unbelievable numbers without a lead blocker in 2005 and is a much better receiving back than Hunt. He will have a better 40 time and 3 cone drill showing agility at the combine. He will post a much better vert and show more quickness/explosiveness in the 10 yard. Rutgers was no where near as good in 2005 when they couldn't beat Arizona St. in a bowl game as they were in 2006. I believe if Leonard had a Leonard blocking for him he would have put up almost identical probably even better numbers than Ray Rice. However Rutgers followed the Caste system. They also may have wanted to use Rice as a HB not Leonard because they wanted both of them on the feild and Rice could not play FB. Leonard was touted as a potential Heisman winner for a reason and he is no Ron Dayne who if he were black would have long been out of the league!

Leonard is a MUCH better athlete than Rice. If your black an 83 yard T.D. would mean you have "break away" speed. Ray Rice always got caught from behined at 50 yards. Rice is a good back in the Tony Marten mold though.

I will also add that I think there are a few white RB's in college right now who may be better than Leonard but might not be given a chance to prove it. Those RB's are Kevin Harris, Kyle Bell who is recovering from injury, and Jared Hawkins. The only reason Leonard was given a chance to perform brilliantly and take Rutgers out of the pit of NCAA football is because Rutgers was so bad they couldn't afford to follow the caste system and not give a player of Leonard's caliber a chance. They were unable to recruit a Kenny Irons or Michael Bush for the team who are in my opinion worse than Leonard but would surely have played ahead of him. I am almost certain that Leonard is better than Tony Hunt the only player I'm pretty sure he is not as good as is the injured Adrian Peterson and probably McFaddon. I think that Leonard is even as good as WVU's Slaton.

Good point White Tornado. I think Leonard who is currently slimming down to get consideration as an NFL HB (let's hope it's not a futile effort) has above average speed for the position in the NFL. You have to remember there are stars such as Shaun Alexander and Emmitt Smith who run 4.6's. I think Leonard is going to run in the 4.45-4.5 range. I still think that although Leonard is a better athlete than Kyle Bell and Kevin Harris as far as combine numbers he is not as powerful. Jared Hawkins is completly different in style than the 3 aforementioned. He is a rare white scat back. At least he will never be converted to FB whether he makes it or not!

Put the bottle down you must be Drunk.Ray Rice is nowhere better than Leonard Rice has the benefit of a better O-Line and A better Rutgers Teams for that matter. You can twist the numbers all you want most of the time when Leonard got the ball everybody new he was getting it.Plus all them shortyardage carries he might pick up the first or get the TD but when you only have to get a yard that will bring your yard per carry down.THEN RICE ON THE OTHER HAND GETS A LOT OF 3RD AND LONG RUNS on a draw which inflates his average. Why is it that Leonard hardly ever when he got outside would get run down but Rice does. But were talking who projects best at the next level and in that case Leonard is way better prospect Faster in the forty, better Vision.Stronger and a better Receiver. You say stats then tell me why Bettis who was a FB his whole time at Notre Dame with average numbers was put at RB but Leonard can't.

LOL @ guest saying that rice is better than leonard cos he got more yards is ridiculous, because you are comparing a fullback to a halfback.
The difference is enormous. A FB will be used in short yardage situations far more often than a halfback. Like already mentioned, a FB wont have a lead blocker.

Chad Hall is a good scat back too. Too bad he'll never have a chance to play in the pros.

Rice is a better scat back type player at the college level, but there is no way he is a better pro prospect. Even if Leonard wasn't versatile he has a huge size advantage on Rice, that is the key ingredient for a pro prospect. Rice will bounce out of the league within a few seasons and either play arena ball or the CFL or if the money doesn't interest him get on with his life in the real world. Rice at best will be a third rounder if not a second day pick.

Blah, was watching NFL network and they showed Leonard weighing in..he looked solidly built and every bit the part of an RB but Mariucci and the other commentator kept saying Leonard was in denial and needed to bulk up to becoem a fb. Than they show a 6'3 243 Micheal Bush and go on and talk about how he would be a great change of pace back and how nimble he is, he looks big and sloppy as did JaMarcus Russell actually. The double standards are to much to bear.

Mariucci? That great judge of 2-14 talent? What would he know about running backs, I would say NOTHING from his mercifully brief stay with the Lions.

From Brianleonard23.com

Who in the NFL would you consider your playing style similar to?

Brian: I really don't feel like I am like a specific person in the NFL. I think of myself as more of a new type of back. If I had to compare myself to someone thought, I would say Mike Alstott on Tampa Bay or Rob Konrad on Oakland.
