BRAWL BREAKS OUT AT DOLPHINS CAMP
Posted by Michael David Smith on August 14, 2008, 11:44 a.m. EDT

It's the last day of training camp for the Miami Dolphins, and it appears that tempers have reached a boil.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that a brawl broke out involving several players at this morning's practice.

The fight started on what looked like a routine play, with cornerback Will Allen covering receiver David Kircus on a deep pass. But it quickly became far from routine, as, Salguero writes, "Allen began punching on Kircus who fell to the turf and basically went into a fetal position as Allen stood over him."

(It's surprising that Kircus didn't fight back. Apparently Kircus only punches people when he's at the end of their driveways.)

But even though Kircus didn't want the fight to escalate, other Dolphins did. Once Allen stopped pummeling Kircus, he started to walk back toward the line of scrimmage. That's when an offensive player decided to go after Allen and began to punch him. Salguero says no one is sure which offensive player went after Allen; depending on which reporter you ask it was either Reagan Mauia, or ~ Anthony Fasano, or Sean Ryan or Boomer Grigsby.

And it still wasn't over after that unidentified offensive player went after Allen. A bunch of defensive players rushed in to help Allen, and then some offensive players joined in, and a full-fledged rumble was going on, and all the coaches could do was blow their whistles.

The fight eventually broke up, and practice was restored. Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post reports that Kircus wanted no part of Allen, and that Kircus was the last player to leave the practice field.

Initial indications are that no one was injured in the brawl. We'll see whether Dolphins coach Tony Sparano follows the precedent set by Panthers coach John Fox and hands out any two-game suspensions.

I hope it's one of those 3, not Mauia, who's a bum. It's great to see fellow white guys standing up for kircus, who did the right thing not fighting back, it could've cost him his roster spot.

Kircus has made the team, but I would of liked it if he fought back against the brotha. However that being said white guys stepping up for one another is good too see that they stick up for each other in a leauge where dare I say it they are in the minority. On the bright side this dolphins team will be whiter this year than last years team which is a positive in some respects.

Even if reagan did step up to help Kircus i consider that a good thing. All 4 are not black and it is good to see they have his back.

Nothing new in this story. Kircus and the CB were probably jostling for position on previous plays. Kircus waspole-axed by an elbowen route. Would have made Kobe proud fo sho. Surprising any whites even make it to regular season games. I'm sure Kircus being on probation and lectured by the NFL and the commish realizes he is on a very short leash.

"Allen was covering WR David Kircus on a sideline pattern when suddenly the wise-cracking New Yawker threw an elbow in Kircus' chin. The pass sailed out of bounds and it seemed as if the play was over. WRONG! Allen jumped on a prone Kircus and started throwing a flurry of punches. A stunned Kircus didn't seem to fight back. Then all heck broke loose as offensive players came to Kircus' rescue. Penalty flags were being thrown and coach's whistles were tweeting but to no avail as a 40-second brawl ensued."

More whites need to stand up for each other in these situations. Hopefully Allen will get his comeupance soon.

Why did the Miami Herald reporter feel the need to go into such detail about the fight, which only served to show Kircus in a negative light? He went into "the fetal position?" When have you ever read such comments about any training camp fight, where one player was made to appear to be such a wimp? I wonder if that reporter would have described a black player "in a fetal position" or something similar that portrayed him as such a loser, especially if the player fighting him was white?

I am disappointed that Kircus didn't fight back. I'm assuming the fight happened because Kircus was smoking the black player, and that's typically how blacks respond when they are being beaten at anything by whites. Kircus seems to be something of a hothead, with his previous incident a few years back, so it is surprising that he would just take that from a player that must almost certainly be pretty small. I guess he's watched a lot of TV, too, and knows his place.

I would like to see it before I come to any conclusions. I'm not in the habit of taking reporters at their word.

If you have just been "pole-axed" and are lying dazed on the ground, then blows start coming in to yuor head and body I think it is a pretty instinctive reaction to take a "fetal" position to protect your head and vital organs - including your most vital one. I think most people would have reacted the same way.

TNB. A white guy gets cheap-shotted and while he is lying defenseless the Negro jumps him. The media, true to its standards, has absolutely no mercy for the white victim and glorifies the cowardly acts of the Negro.

I remember Bill Romanoski knocking a brother out in a fair fight. The media lampooned him for it and that one incident nearly ended his career. No talk of how wimpy the brotha was etc.

Will this Negro get any punishment from the team?

Punishment? Since when do the media's little darlings ever get punished? Their actions are never considered a result of simply being ignorant a**holes.....it's probably because of their "oppressed economic status," or the classic "victims of their surroundings."

Will Allen is a weak little turd, like 90% of DBs in the NFL.

Will Allen and his buddies can't tackle, can't cover....and can't even seem to pick a fair fight. I wonder how Mr. Caste himself, Bill Parcells, Sparano (or the rest of the coaching staff) feels about the situation....I'm sure that fatso could care less, as long as a caste-paycheck is forthcoming.

You're right, I saw about 4 different "human interest stories" about that black TE who got his face smashed in by Bill Romanowski. I trust the Kircus story won't be repeated anywhere accept castefootball.us.

I think Bigunreal is correct when he says that Kircus was probably burning him during practice.....it's a typical result when a white WR actaully gets a chance to play against a black CB. This is the main reason that coaches, scouts, and the media can't allow white athletes to compete on a fair playing field....because they make "the black man's struggle" that much more difficult. Remember when Drew Bennett (back on the Titants) had that amazing recieving game on monday night football, burning the all-black Cheifs secondary? That's the media's idea of a f*cking nightmare. It was fun to watch ESPN squirm after that "racist atrocity."

If I'm not mistaken, Titan's safety Donnie Nickey had some run-ins with black players at camp some years back. Don't even know if he's still playing.

Kircus did the right thing not fighting back against a player who is pretty secure in his job when Kircus is on a very short leash. Kircus was already involved in a fight at a bar or something last year.

well, looks like David should have fought back after all...

from rotoworld.com

Dolphins released WR David Kircus and CB Chris Roberson.
They'll roll with Anthony Armstrong and Greg Camarillo over Kircus for now, but Miami will surely scour the waiver wire at final cuts for an upgrade.

Wow- before that "fight," I thought I read that Kircus was the favorite for the #3 WR spot. Kircus is becoming another Kevin Kasper, showing great speed and playmaking ability to various teams, only to be summarily cut in favor of slower black WRs with hands of stone.

Whites are truly in a no-win situation. Incredible as it seems, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I admonished Kircus to fight back when he was (undoubtedly) sucker punched by that little thug, but in reality it wouldn't have mattered either way. If they don't back down from blacks in practice, they alienate their black teammates and don't win over any white teammates. If they just passively take it, as Kircus did, they still get cut. The reality is that, until the Caste System is dismantled, their skin pigmentation disorder is the only thing that counts.

From Fanball:

As expected, David Kircus has been released by the Dolphins, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Our View: Kircus displayed great hands in training camp and the ability to stretch the field, but the team ultimately let him go, likely to keep former AFL star Anthony Armstrong.

"As expected?" Okay... Just look at this situation; here is a WR who even the jock-sniffers acknowledged "displayed great hands" and could "stretch the field," yet somehow it was "expected" that he'd be released. Miami has one of the worst receiving corps out of all the horrible ones in the NFL. There is only one reason why Kircus was cut- because he's white.

Great Post bigunreal. It is very true, but sad. These are very sad times indeed. Maybe the Dolphins are looking to sign Usain Bolt to the squad? Just utter insanity.

I've heard that statement 1,000 times, however, never has a team so pathetic (the lowly Dolphins) cut a guy that made so much sense in their scheme. I guess they figured that their newly acquired midget....I mean WR, Ted Ginn, will be superhuman this season, right.

White Power,

Kircus may have been injured on the play, not allowing him to fight back against the animal. According to a football source, Kircus benches around 390 lbs., so I highly doubt he was scared to fight back. Like I said, he was probably injured on the play and couldn't defend himslef when he was down.

I'm not so sure, bigunreal. Bill Romanowski never just "took it". As a matter of fact, he broke that idiot Marcus Williams' face in fight that occurred during practice a few years back. Romo didn't seem to care if he "won anyone over" or not. He had a simple creed in life, "You mess with me and I f*ck you up."

And kudos to him for it.

He will. Steve Largent got revenge on Mike Harden.

Remember that?
