By my count, the Steelers have only 12 white players on their Opening Game roster(#13 should be TE Cody Boyd after he gets back from surgery). There are two Polynesians in Polamalu and Kemoeatu, and the rest are black.

Charlie Batch goes on the IR-so he can collect his $1.35 million and do nothing. Byron Leftwich moves in at #2 QB and gets $645,000. Dennis Dixon waits in the wings.

The Steelers have made one pathetic move after the other since Mike Tomlin took over, and with a guy named Omar Kahn running the player contract negotiations.

They let future HOF guard Alan Faneca leave because of "money." But then they paid mediocre, injury-risk, health-risk(diabetes) black sumo Kendall Simmons $24 million over 4 years-$8.5 million guaranteed. More incredibly, they screwed up with putting the transition tag on fatass backup OT Max Starks at $6.9 million. It seems as if management didn`t realize that under the 2006 collective bargaining agreement, both franchise and transition tag players get all the money once they put their name on the dotted line.

In effect, they guaranteed almost $16 million to two losers-one of them a scrub for just one more year-when they could have given Alan Faneca the guaranteed $21 million out of $40 million the Jets gave him.

But they didn`t have the money. It would`ve been a bad financial decision for the team. Sure....

Under Tomlin, white men in training camp like Jeremy Bloom, Billy Latsko(his agent should`ve considered Dan Kreider`s experience), Doug Legursky, Adam Lentz etc. were just training camp fodder. I`m sure it burns Tomlin that Sean Mahan is still around. He didn`t play great at C last season for sure, but he`s better than some of the black sumos they have around.

Big Ben, Justin Hartwig, and Heath Miller are going to feel pretty lonely in the O-Huddle this year.

With white D-line standouts like Aaron Smith, Brett Keisel, and Chris Hoke around 30, Tomlin is probably licking his lips about having them out of there by 2010.

The Rooneys got what they wanted. They should be proud of themselves. Now sell the team and everyone in the extended Rooney family will be even richer.

This isn`t a Steeler team I want to watch very much anymore.

Nice post, Van Slyke. I've seen this coming since Tomlin was hired. 12 white players is getting very near Jaguars territory. And they keep drafting only blacks so there's no young white players being developed. Bill Cowher seems almost white friendly compared to Tomlin.
The belief that black coaches aren't as bad as white ones doesn't hold water. Tomlin, Herm Edwards, Lovie Smith and Marvin Lewis are all extremely Caste oriented.

I used to follow the Steelers but find myself hoping the fail more and more every year, especially since Tomlin has taken over due to the affirmative action Rooney Rule. I hope to see the Steelers suffer 3-4 losing seasons to get this bum out of here. He is lucky he inherited a top 5 QB and good white d-linemen because without them the Steelers would be mediocre.

Its not just Tomlin thats the problem, Kevin Colbert is the director of player personnel and has to be one of the biggest caste whores of all time.

It won't be surprising if in retrospect letting Alan Faneca leave in free agency will be seen as a major turning point in the decline of the team, if it does decline under Tomlin. The Steelers have always prided themselves on letting players leave as free agents right before they begin to decline. They have been shrewd that way, but from a racially aware perspective, almost all of these players were black, and black players often decline startlingly quickly in their late 20s and very early 30s. One of the traditional knocks against black athletes, now long forgotten and in fact the opposite is now widely believed, is that they lack both short- and long-term stamina and endurance. This criticism is often valid.


But Faneca is a beast who looks to still have a lot left in the tank. He's the best white offensive lineman in the league over at least the past decade. Steve Hutchinson may end up surpassing him, but Faneca is unquestionably HOF caliber.


Even withFaneca last year the line was terrible in pass protection. Ben was constantly running for his life. If I had to pick the big name QB most likely to suffer a major injury this season, it's not even a close competition. (Edit: on second thought it's a competition between Roethlisberger and Carson Palmer, both playing behind bad sumo lines.) We'll see ifthe Pittsburgh lineimproves this year, but the Steelershaveclearlygoneinto Caste overdrive under Tomlin.Edited by: Don Wassall

The Steelers have 9 players on the practice squad, instead of 8, because one of them is an NFL Europe guy.

Mike Tomlin can look with pride at the fact that he is giving white players an equal chance because two of them-DL Scott Paxson and LB Patrick Bailey-are white.

I completely agree with LeonardFan about Kevin Colbert.

I also agree with Don about the Steelers decline in the near future. Tomlin is concentrating on "building" his team with as many black players at the skill positions and LB as possible, but has paid scant attention to the lines-which is where the Steelers always build their base for winning, especially on the O-Line and the running game.

The Steelers have been generally good at remaking their team without holding on too long to older players, but when the team has given contracts to over-the-hill vets like Greg Lloyd and Jason Gildon, they really screwed up.

I think the Steelers will still be pretty good this year, even with the super-tough schedule, but I expect them to start showing more decline 2009/2010.

It is absolutely sick. They gave Jeremy Bloom...zero chance. Why even have him on the training camp roster, if you are set on discarding him. And that is exactly what happened. I read an article during the offseason where Tomlin was quoted saying and I'm not kidding something like "Bloom is a real long shot to make the team next year with our depth at WR, we just need some extra bodies right now."

Tomlin= another racist black coach. I can't believe that he would make a comment like that long before training camp. Clearly he had already made his mind up, just like racist Lovie Smith.

There are only two black coaches in the NFL that I like and they happen to be the best of the bunch...Dungy and Crennel, (Edwards at least isn't terrible.) We need more black coaches who are amongst the fairest in the league to white players and then maybe some white coaches won't worry about looking racist for doing the same. Hopefully the teams that have the most white players/ starters ...Packers,Chargers,Patriots,Colts etc. etc. will continue to excel, showing the league it is easier to win without disregarding 67% of the talent pool in the U.S populous.

Mike Tomlin gets rid of another white player. The team traded OL Sean Mahan-last year`s starting center-to Tampa Bay for a draft choice. The roster has an open spot, which will undoubtedly be filled by a black player.

I warned everybody that the Steelers would become an all negroe team very soon. I think that Dennis Dixon will replace Rothlesberger as the starting quarterback in the next couple of years. Tomlin is a caste thug who was shocked when he was hired he is out to ruin the once proud franchise. It will only be a matter of time before he is run out of town. The Steelers will start to lose and then the fans will demand change. Their record this year will be 8-8 too many blacks and your talent and intelligence level start to go way down. Just watch him on the sidelines watch his mannerisms and their you will see that he acts like Ray Lewis and all the other gang banger wanna be's in the leauge. He does not speak professionally, and he is surrounding him self with his type of players albeit black. If your a white player on the Steelers your time is running out quickly. Tomlin is undoubtedly a caste whore, but a thug he is not. He is racist against white players, just like so many white coaches and GMs in the league. Black coaches are no different than the white ones in their treatment of whites it is all part of the system.

Dungy and Crennel, however, deserve our respect as amongst the fairest of the fair in the league to whites. However, even if these guys are aware that whites can play none of them are going to risk their jobs to shake things up. The rest of the black coaches, we shall just be hoping for their replacement along with the Jack Del Rio, Sean Peyton, Tom Coughlin and Andy Reid etc. white types of the league.

Although I do have a soft spot in my heart for Coughlin coming off a Superbowl victory for my team after being chastised as a "drill Sergent" by the media!

I am entitled to my opinion, and I say he is a thug. He is out to stack his team with less talented blacks as a payback for how blacks were treated in the past by the NFL. It dosen't take a genius to see that black coaches want to make up for the supposed crimes against black players in the past by doing the same to white players now when they get the chance. How is this hard for some of you to see. Shack Harris has said as long as I can I will play a black quarterback. He dosen't mention the fact that what if he can't play it dosen't matter to him. I know the Steelers have a proud tradition, but how truly proud is their tradition going to be with ethnic cleansing going on at this present time with the roster. It is this mentality that says to me that Tomlin is acting in a way harmful to whites then what else would you call him. If not a thug then a race hater or some other word that applies.

Actually, I think Tomlin is just nieve. He's not a thug, he just happens to "relate" to his players (unlike Bill Cowturd, who sexually related to his players, haha).

I'm pretty sure he made the decision to bring in the hapless Byron Leftwich, and get rid of Bloom, Kreider, Sean Mahan, and Mike Lorello. It wasnt like there were many whites to purge to begin with. It was also his decision to keep an nearly all-black, sumo offensive line and sign them for the future.

White Power, you're right to think of Tomlin as an underqualified, affirmative action coach....because he will exposed as such in the near future. There is one positive, however, and it's that the "drunken white fanbase" are actually smart enough to know the difference between wins and losses (shocking, I know). Yes, the sissy boys who blow tons on money on NFL games sure to love it when "their team" wins.

Tomlin will be gone in 3 seasons. I desperately want to Steelers to be aweful this season, despite my support of the very few white players on thier team.

The roster is finally set and there are 12 white players on Mike Tomlin`s team.

They traded C Sean Mahan as I posted above, but then signed a white TE, Sean McHugh, who played for Detroit the past 3 years, to be their third TE.

It`s interesting how teams are "allowed" to have so many white TEs. Athletic and versatile, they can run, catch, and block, but whites can`t play any other positions on the field in appreciable numbers besides QB and OL.

The only way Tomlin is gone in 3 seasons is if the Rooney brothers sell.

With Roethlisberger, the Steelers have a chance every game. He alone is enough to support the very black Steelers team which seems to be coming in a season or two. The black Steelers will ride him for years.

No word on whether they'll vote him the team MVP.

I was just looking at the 2006 Caste Football Steelers preview and found this distressing piece of info:

"In 2004 the Steelers had 21 white players on their roster. Two years later the number is down to 16."

2006: 16
2008:12
2010: (single digits?)

Caste Football members can argue til they are blue in the face about whether certain white players at skill positions deserve more opportunities or not. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don`t. However, we know things are not going to get better any time soon because the all-pervasive Caste System gets the white kids out of skill positions all too often when they really are still kids.

But the thing that is unconscionable about this ethnic cleansing in my opinion is how anyone can even remotely believe that blacks should make up nearly all the defensive linemen, with a monopoly on the offensive linemen looming on the horizon. Talk about offensive; this just boggles the mind.

Out of all the white kids who put on the pads and helmets each year, we cannot produce but a handful of D-linemen and several dozen O-linemen for 32 NFL teams in 2008?

Wake up all you white people who lurk about this site. Start thinking about the reality that is going on, and has been for many years now. And tell your friends, too.

The Steelers are expected to allow DE Brett Keisel to play out his contract this season. Pittsburgh is up against the cap and can't re-sign all of the veterans due to hit free agency after the season. Nobody drafts and plugs better than the Steeers, so Ziggy Hood may well take Keisel's starting spot in 2010.
